Due to a bad experience with a different brand of aftermarket replacement clutch master cylinder which I tried before this one, I wanted to wait until I had a couple of months of using this one daily before writing a review.I installed this on my 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata to solve a problem of a clutch that would not fully disengage unless the pedal was pumped a couple of times. I have been repairing and maintaining my own cars for more than 20 years, so I did the installation myself. I bled the air out prior to installing it in the car (bench bleeding took about 10 full pumps to get the last air bubbles out) and this saved a lot of time and frustration bleeding it while in the car. The installation and bleeding of the clutch master and slave cylinders took about 2 hours. The clutch now feels and works as good as I remember when I first got the car. I would buy this part again.

I got this for my 07 miata. These cylinders tend to fail after about 10 years but changing process was easy enough. The Mazda dealership quoted me 740$ for two cylinders and labor. I Changed them for 55$ with little experience. and it works great.

I bought this part to replace a potentially bad master cylinder in my 2007 Miata NC. Here it is 16000 miles later and the part has failed - piston returns only VERY slowly. having to replace it. Will buy from someone else.

Direct fit. Looks the same as oem. If you don’t have a power bleeder you’re probably going to need one to bleed the system properly.

It's a hydraulic master cylinder, and it works. Purchased for 2011 MX5. If you get a power bleeder, properly bench-bleed this master cylinder prior to installation, and manipulate the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder correctly when you bleed the entire clutch hydraulic system afterward, then the most difficult part of installing this replacement will be figuring out how to get in your driver's seat upside-down, with your head under the steering column, so you can position the push rod, tighten the nuts, and calibrate the engagement. If you don't get a power bleeder, or if you do not bench-bleed prior to installation, the most difficult part will be bleeding the system. If your clutch pedal is soft in the morning, then firm after everything gets hot, you need to bleed. This is a good replacement part. Add it to your cart. Then, get a power bleeder with an adapter cap that fits the fluid reservoir.Seriously... Get the bleeder.

My master and slave were from 2006. I replaced them with Exedy products. Easy to install and work great.
