This tool works great. It's priced right, and does its job well. I wish the button was recessed a little so it doesn't accidently turn on while in the tool bag. But, nonetheless, it works well and the battery lasts a long time.FYI: Dont waste your money on that stupid tach tape, just buy a roll of aluminum duct tape and you'll have a lifetime supply that does the job just as well.

It reads through fan grills. It reads super high speed jet engine style fans, it reads with reflective tape, it reads white paint, it even reads with correction tape or fluid on one blade. Simple and easy to use. One of my favorite tools for the thermal engineering lab.

This unit performs as advertised. I have used it on a number projects, measuring fan speed on furnaces. It meets my needs perfectly but might not be rugged enough for daily field use. The plastic case seems a little thin and would probably not withstand a drop from any height. Would be better if the case were a softer, impact absorbing material. Having said that, it does the job.

Works beautifully even in daylight. I used white reflector tape designed to make signs visible at night and got perfect readings. I compared the values to another tachometer and found that they matched. Accurate and simple to use.

Delivered as expected. Item as received, described as advertised. Was ordered to measure RPM of Router bits. Seems to have an unstable rpm even with reflective tape on the bit which is 3/4†diameter. Measurement taken at 50mm. Will test on a different bit which is ~ 1.5†diameter. Could be operator error too. Jury still out on accuracy for Extech mini laser tachometer. Easy to use. Device well made.
