Because storage space is precious and often very limited, the ceiling-mount rack is designed to create its own space in the oft-forgotten or previously unusable overhead areas of your garage, storage shed, underside of your deck, or in your home. The rack is constructed from heavy-duty aluminum with a durable foam sleeve on each arm to protect your boards from pressure dings and board scrapes. When evenly distributed, the rack's 135 lbs. weight capacity allows storage for multiple surfboards or paddleboards on each side. Installation is easy, mounting directly into a ceiling joist or with the included drywall anchors.

* update * 30 days later, after high winds and stormy weather I am happy to report the rack has stood up to the elements and all boards are fine.I like that it is light weight and easy to lift to install, but I had to use deck crews that I had because the screws provided had one screw that was totally unusable, and the screws that were useable would not penetrate the solid wood beam of our upstairs deck. I was very concerned about the support beams bending when I tried putting one board on it. It swayed a lot, despite being solidly anchored in wood with deck screws. Fingers crossed it holds up.

The installation was very straight forward. The materials appear rather nice, not as fancy as an Apple product, but far superior in appearance to a lot of items you'd find at a big box stores. I've got three snowboards stowed securely + two bows. Great value!

I needed to figure out what to do with my 24' extension ladder. All the walls in my garage are already occupied with other things, so that wasn't an option. While browsing different methods, I came across this product! Another method I considered was using the pulley system and having a hoist to suspend the ladder in the air, but I didn't want rope and pulleys hanging from everywhere...so I thought this product was a much cleaner alternative.I had a little trouble mounting this; the distance I wanted to have between the two racks to properly support a 24' ladder meant not positioning both racks on horizontal joists. However, I did purchase some heavy duty anchors that can support 230+ pounds per anchor each, so I'm not too worried about the security of the racks to the ceiling in my garage. I did, however, buy roof racks for the vehicle sitting directly under the ladder (just in case...)After getting my ladder up on the rack, I noticed that the rack started tilting one way. This is obviously due to the fact that the rack comes in pieces--one that is secured to the ceiling (and pretty darn solid and unmoving), another piece that slots into place with a push-in button pin scenario, and then the extension arms. The bottom center part does have a little wiggle action, so my ladder, rather than sitting perpendicular to the ceiling, slants by about 5-10 degrees. However, the traction pads that are on the horizontal bars of the rack do help prevent the ladder from sliding, so I'm not too worried. All in all, the racks get the job done and fulfill their purpose. I haven't tried maxing out the weight on the racks, but I'm fairly confident they can support at least the amount that they claim to. The material is decently high quality, and I would buy these again. I just don't want to buy another ladder to put on the other side of the horizontal bar to perhaps even out the tilt.Easy to install - 4.8/5 - The fact that the racks come in pieces so you can focus on attaching the rack to the ceiling without having long bars in the way is a definite plus, and a huge help.Sturdiness - 4.2/5 - I really don't like the wobble. It makes me a little nervous, which is more than 0% nervous.Value - 5/5 - For $55, I was able to find an aesthetically-pleasing way of storing my huge ladder in my garage, out of the way. Some ceiling racks cost way more, so this was definitely a good price in my books. The materials are lightweight but seem durable.

I’ve had 2 pairs of these for about two years. I have put 6 short boards on each and it’s been great. I am ordering 2 more pairs. They seem a bit loose but don’t let that fool you, they’re plenty strong and I recommend them.

Super easy to install on my garage ceiling to keep the SUPs out of the way (mine is too long to lean against a wall).Lightweight materials but heavy duty construction.Took about 10mins to put up and holds both of our SUPs securely.Highly recommend for an easy SUP storage solution!

I needed more storage space in my garage so I wanted to switch from a wall-mounted surf rack to a ceiling rack and this fit the bill.1. What's in the box?: You receive the rack in a fairly small box, the items broken down, along with screw mounts (see below) and instructions.2. Installation?: Installation was quite easy. The rack comes as two base units, with 2 end units (per each rack mount) you simply put in place that lock in with a button-type mechanism. But I would put those on last! The racks come with screw mounts with plastic anchors. I am sure for many installations these are perfectly adequate. For me personally, I did not have any studs to try to mount these to for a secure mount. Instead I inly had drywall (sheetrock), so I felt more comfortable using anchor bolts and these were easily found at my local hardware store. As with any bolts, I was able to get these installed and up in no time. There are TWO holes per rack so you are installing 4 holes total. Once those were up, you simply place the end unts on and this is ready.3. Use?: These are great. The space provided between the ceiling top of the mount and the holders is more than adequate for either placing this on top via the side, or sliding these down the racks depending on your placement. The nice thing is that there is enough give with the design that these aren't so rigid as to cause any problems getting the surfboard or whatever else on the rack. But this is not going anywhere.Overall: A perfect solution to my garage storage problem . Totally stoked to have found and gotten this. Solved a big problem, and my board and kayak paddles (and fishing poles) are safely stored and easily accessible. Perfect.

This product was just what I was looking for, but the bolts they sent to install it to my ceiling were a joke. The Hex drive feature in one stripped out under the load needed to drive it into my ceiling joist (even with a pilot hole drilled at the minor diameter of the threads). Another one of the bolts didn't even have the hex drive feature in it. Poor quality control overall. Luckily I had some spare bolts and I just over drilled the holes in the frame to install it securely to my garage ceiling.

This was cheaper than many alternatives, easy to put together, and it’s currently holding two big SUPs. I was sure to screw it into ceiling studs.
