Using traditional methods to install the threaded inserts was frustrating! I either ended up stripping the insert or it would not be level/flush. The EZ Lock is a game changer! I had success with every insert! It's worth every penny!!

This is a great way to install a screw that needs to be removed and replaced multiple times. If you use a wood screw, then you run the danger of stripping the wood when you replace the screw, particularly if the woof is soft. With this device, you install a set of metal threads, and then use a metal-to-metal screw instead of a woodscrew. Now you can remove and replace the screw as many times as you want without having to worry about damaging the threads. The inserts come in different lengths so you can choose how deep into the wood the threads should go. The threads on the outside of the insert, that grip the wood, are quite wide so they provide a lot of holding power. Of course, you can apply glue when you install the insert if you are really worried about it but I don’t think that is necessary.

I used these on a studio desk so that there would be no screws showing in the finished piece. They work great! Holding power is much more than you'd expect. One thing to keep in mind is that these have a flange. This flange keeps you from inserting them too far; however, they can also keep the two connected surfaces from meeting absolutely flush. I drilled a slight (1/64th or so) countersink with a Forstner bit. This allowed them to be slightly inset and not interfere with fit. Another option would be to order the same fastener without the flange. While you can use a drill to insert them, I used a drill to get them started and an Allen wrench to set them. This eliminated stripping out the wood due to inserting them too fast with a drill.

Inslalar las tuercas inserto con esta herramienta fue muy sencillo y rápido, la broca hace un corte perfecto y la llace failita mucho porque lleva el in serto justo al tope.
