How to Choose the Right Oscillating Tool Blade for Your Job ?

right tool blade

Oscillating tools work by fast and brisk side-to-side movement. Given that there are multiple types of jobs and different teeth material, one might be at lost as to which blade to select. upper image shows how to choose oscillating tool blades for your different cutting demands.

Please Note:

Carbide blade is very great for hardened nails and bolts cutting, but it is not great for wood and soft metal cutting because of the flat teeth geometry design.

How to install the adapter for D-brand quick change oscillating multitools?

Important: Make sure the adapter inner edge locks on the side of the hold pin, don't put the adapter under the pin

Ezarc blades are top quality about a year ago I thought I might give them a try and was really impressed on how sharp and long lasting their blades was since then it’s the only blade I purchased. From grinder, jigsaw, oscillator, reciprocal, drill bits, etc

I have been installing new windows in a hunting shack built in 1939. The corrugated steel siding is well, thick. The windows are a different size, so some trimming of the steel had to be done, and my multi-tool with these blades made short work of this. I tried a sawzall first, but could not get the precision cuts I wanted, particularly in the corners. The combo of the multi-tool and these blades did the work nicely.I purchased a pack of three blades, one would have been enough. The other two will get used eventually.

I use these alot, properties lots of remodeling, i use oscillating tools quite a bit. These cut through nails quickly, while i've never counted compared how many i can cut compared to other brands, there's enough positive feedback on ezarc product (which i use others of) and reviews to indicate these are good value which is why i keep using their products. Recently my inlaw was using a bosch carbide on his, and these on mine, i could not determine a major describable difference in cutting speed (did not test /compare blade life).

Bimetal blades cut — these shred! You end up with tiny metal slivers everywhere. They can get embedded in your hand like a wood sliver; gloves recommended. Goggles mandatory.Got these a year ago to cut subfloor screws from below. Worked well, but had to keep moving the multitool back and forth while cutting. Took about 30s per screw.

I haven’t had a chance to use the blades yet, but felt like I needed to share the excellent customer service. The day after I received the blades, I received the below email from the vendor. The heads-up regarding the type of wood was a nice touch. I’ll update my review if I find the blades don’t work.===========================Message from seller EZARC Tools:Hi,This is Vicky from EZARC Tools. We just wonder to know if you have received the item on time?If you have any questions about our product during your cutting application, please feel free to contact us.We're a well-known oscillating blades company and want our customers to be 100% satisfied before & after purchasing our item. Some tips for Carbide Blade application:1. This carbide blade is very great for cutting hard materials such as hardened nails and bolts, but it is not recommended for wood and soft-metal such as aluminum, brass, and copper.2. Carbide teeth are hard but brittle, please keep your tool stable during cutting to protect your carbide teeth from cracking.Best regards,Vicky from EZARC Customer Service Team

I needed to cut off a 1" bolt in an awkward spot so I got 3 of these. Picture is of the first 2 and I still was not half way through. $22 bucks wasted. Not very tough. Maybe ok for a few small screw heads or something. If you can an angle grinder or torch is the best way to go.Update. This Company reached out to .me after this review and acted in a most admirable way. So at least they are a commendable company. They wanted to test the bolt which is still holding my entire project together. I never did get through the bolt or I certainly would have provided it. I'd raise my review a star for character.

I bought a pack of these carbide blades about a month ago. Have only used one blade on multiple jobs. It has cut through plaster and lathe, nails, wood, drywall, and flooring. Most recently, I used it to cut through a heavy wall steel pipe nipple twice, and the teeth show no signs of wear. Very impressed with the performance and longevity, especially at such a competitive price (beating out most options available at big box stores).
