Used this to connect our fridge water line and it was super easy. Had it hooked up in a matter of minutes.

After discovering that our HVAC humidifier line was installed incorrectly on the cold water line by a contractor I ordered this to correct the problem. The saddle valve is well made and was easy to install with nothing but a Phillips Head screwdriver and an adjustable wrench.

Worked perfect. Old one wouldn’t open up to let water thru. back to full water pressure. Couldn’t be happier! Happy Holidays!! 🎄

These are prone to leaking but they do work in cases where you cant install a proper supply fitting.

Used it to run a water line to the fridge ice maker in the garage. Solid built and worked as advertised.

We recently switched over to a heat pump and it's suggestion was to use the hot water feed due to the lower temps (works great BTW) so I needed another "tap". I may replace it some day but the 40 year old one on the cold water pipe is still there with no issues. The biggest mistake you can do is to screw the tap in too far. Screw in the tap a turn or so and unscrew, repeat. When you get water when you unscrew, you have probably gone far enough. You still have enough taper on the tap to "turn off the water" with a GENTLE twist. No brainer, cheap and quick.

These pierce type valves are not the greatest to start with. They are often prone to leaking. I have the same issue with this one. It has a slight leak where the valve screws into the top bracket. It's a minor leak and it's installed outdoors so I'm not too upset but be mindful that it is not a matter of if these type of valves will fail, but when. If you have the space but not too handy, Cut the pipe and use a push to connect valve.
