Will not unseal due to drain suction related to material thickness. To thin, to flexible to lift when opened.

Purchased to replace a broken tub stopper. This is a no frills replacement. It’s made of plastic and the cap is chrome finished. It seems a bit tall once installed, but it does seal completely when pressed down and does not leak. It doesn’t feel really cheap, but it’s definitely not heavy duty, so I guess time will tell how long it lasts. The broken stopper I was replacing was a bit more expensive, felt more solid and lasted over 10 years. Obviously I cannot predict how long this will last, but so far so good.
