People often think that a fuel line is a fuel line.but it is VERY IMPORTANT to look at the end of a fuel line!! Far too many are just ONE PIECE OF EXTRUDED RUBBER!! and with time, heat and pressure. Sooner or later they WILL develop a bulge, that CAN RUPTURE and Spray gas all over an already HOT ENGINE!!Looking at the end of the fuel line that I received from Amazon. I saw what looks like a woven cloth thread(s) layering, between the rubber! Which makes it IMPOSSIBLE for the fuel line to develop a bulge and rupture!!I freely admit that I HAVE NOT compared the prices for fuel lines BUT even IF the fuel line from Amazon is $0.02 cents higher per foot. That's NOTHING compared to the cost of replacing whatever is COMPLETELY BURNED TO THE GROUND!! or even taking a chance of someone GETTING BURNED!!!

For the price, it's hard to beat this stuff vs buying at a box store or buying by the foot at the auto parts place. However, I will say that this hose is more stiff than what I normally use (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but it's also a bit too small on I.D. diameter and the stiffness doesn't help.Normally, 1/4" fuel line will push up relatively easily on fuel tanks, filters, petcocks, and carburetor inlet barb fittings. This stuff (likely due to it's stiffness) just won't do it. Even if you do get it on there, pinch-style hose clamps won't constrict on it. The worm drive ones will but only after cranking down quite a bit.My fix for this was to use a heat gun to warm up the end before shoving it over the barb fitting. This would soften the hose enough for it to slip on, and allow the hose clamp to bite down while still a bit soft. It doesn't take a whole lot of heat and you just want enough to allow the hose to flex a bit. I'd imagine this means removing the hose will be a lot more difficult in the future, but if you allow yourself enough extra hose, you can just cut it off and re-attach.

Its 4 stars just because the hose is as hard as a diamond in an ice storm. It's very well built but I had to put silicone spray and use a heat gun to soften the hose enough to go over a 1/4-inch barb. Once it locked on, I imagine I'll have to cut it off next time. But in all honesty, it's a good value. Other hoses on amazon from Chinese manufacturers are usually super soft and gummy. Once they have fuel run through them for 6 months they get brittle ( and I only run non ethanol). Tygon is the best but it's so expensive when you have long fuel runs. The best black rubber hose you can get is usually at your local parts store, but it can get costly by the foot. This hose is the best value in my opinion. So all in all I would buy it again. Just know all the reviews are true that mention how stiff it is.EDIT:Lasted 6 months and it feels like it's from the Stoneage. The hose has petrified in the position it is. I had to swap the fuel pump, and this stuff was hard as a rock. Had to replace it. 6 months...

Item advertised as a rubber made but is not. Made of some kind of PVC material. Very upset with purchase.
