I USE THESE TO PREVENT VOLTAGE SPIKES ON ALL OUR HOUSE LAMP DIMMERS. WE HAVE LARGE VOLTAGE SPIKES FREQUENTLY..AND HAVE HAD MANY CEILING FANS CONTROLLERS..LED LIGHT BULBS DESTROYED. YOU CAN SOLDER..OR SCREW THESE DIRECTLY ACROSS THE A/C SOURCE AND SAVE DAMAGE.

Used these to protect the input side of a couple of power supplies for ham radio systems because the power lines were failing due to weather problems. Have protected me from power surges several times.
