Our Traction Bars are designed to reduce rear fits Leaf spring axle wrap caused by lift blocks and oversized tires. Typically the travel cycle of the Super Duty rear axle is an arch. Fabtech's exclusive traction bar shackle system allows the bars to float with the arched travel of the rear axle. This provides a non-binding, smooth highway ride, while still providing positive resistance to torque loads, reducing axle wrap and increasing tire traction.

These Fabtech bars are very well made... And they work like a charm!I have a Ford F-350 Superduty Diesel 4x4, and tow a fairly heavy (11K) trailer. I discovered I was having severe axle-wrap issues (worst when towing) which was causing a bad drive-line vibration when starting-out (leaving the line). Drive-line angles were checked and confirmed correct (loaded at rest), but the vibration persisted. I looked at several different options (including building my own bars), but decided the FabTech design was best, IMO.Because these traction bars each attach at TWO points on the axle, it effectively become a "lever" which transmits the axle-wrap torque to the frame, eliminating the wrapping action. Furthermore, here is no "binding" of the axle/springs as the suspension moves up and down (as can happen with single-bar systems), because the swing-links at the frame-end of the bars, allow the leaf springs to work through their full range of motion, as the axle moves up and down. These bars are well built and painted. I installed them (with basic hand-tools) in about 3 hours (the frame steel is HARD! Drilling the mounting holes in the frame was the hardest part!).They have eliminated the axle-wrap issue, and eliminated the drive-line vibration.

'06 F250 King Ranch Relatively easy install. Did have to use a grinder on the forward mounting bracket to make notches for two bolt heads on the driver side where the fuel tank frame crossmember bolts on. Not sure how FabTech missed that one.
