My old doorbell stopped working because of corrosion after years of being exposed to the elements. I replaced the doorbell but also needed a new diode. The FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR 1N4003 DIODE worked as advertised and allows my doorbell to finish its tune after I release the button.

Pro tip, use one of these in your cars fuse box between parking lamp relay pin and drl relay pin and change your drl bulbs to 6000k leds and boom youve doubled your headlight power and nighttime vision.

We only needed one for our door bell, but it was the cheapest way to buy the diodes so we purchased the 5 pack. It was easy to install, and worked just fine.

We thought we needed a new diode for our chiming doorbell. My husband called the manufacturer to get the part number to order the correct one since the number was hard to read on the original. We ordered the one that she insisted was correct even though the original was a different number. The service person from the manufacturer was wrong.

I used this product for a doorbell replacement which none of the manufacturers of replacement doorbells tell you to a diode is required for a chime type doorbell to enable the chime device to go through its cycle. Once i figured that out and installed the diode, the doorbell worked perfectly and the packet of 5 diodes (couldn't just by one) was delivered the next day. Pretty good service!
