These 78x24mm wheels are the closest replacement wheels I have found for my Travelpro Crew3 bag. The bearings are designed for 6mm axles so no bushings are needed which eliminates a source of wiggle in other wheels I have tried. I used one of the included shim washers to reduce the side to side play since these wheels are a few mm narrower than the original Travelpro ones but otherwise they roll as smoothly and quietly as I remember the originals. Also these are quite a bit less expensive than OEM Travelpro wheels.

These wheels are like in-line skate wheels. They are tough, roll smoothly, and fit as they should. I’d recommend them for anybody that needs to replace the wheels on their luggage.

These are the right fit to replace REI rolling luggage wheels. On a recent trip, my rolling bag was not moving smoothly, and I noticed one of the old wheels was delaminating--the rubber "tire" covering was coming off the wheels. It still moved, but felt a little like driving a car after one of your tires gets a flat. I recommend watching a YouTube video that shows the wheel replacement procedure for REI bags. Be aware that the YouTuber used slightly smaller replacement wheels --which might work OK, but I recommend instead getting these Size: 84*24mm, because they are almost exactly the same size as the originals. These replacement wheels come with almost everything you need, including the hex wrench tool that even fits the old parts. The only other tools you will need are: a wrench to hold the small locking bolt that fastens the axle into place, and a fine-pointed tweezer, to hold a washer in place as you insert the axle bolt. I used a small adjustable Crescent wrench; you could instead use a fixed size wrench, or even (if you use it carefully and avoid stripping the nut surfaces) a good quality pair of pliers. It took about 15 minutes to replace both wheels. These replacement wheels saved me a costly trip to the repair shop, and now the bag's rolling like new. I reused the axle bolts, nuts and washers from the original wheels. Those old parts still looked to be in great shape, and worked perfectly with these replacement wheels. I did not bother trying to use the axles that came with these wheels. The inside diameter of the new wheels fit perfectly on the old REI axle bolts. There was one very slight size mismatch that very was easily fixed. The wheel bearing parts on these replacements are very, very slightly less wide than the original parts. I used one of the included washers to fill the slight gap between the inner side surface of the wheel bearing housing and the hole where the axle enters the plastic on the luggage . The new wheel bearings work well and the rubber "tires" on these look fine. I will withhold a durability assessment until I see how well they hold up in use. For now, my trusty REI rolling carry-on is working like new.

I just ordered these (68mm X 24mm) wheels as replacements for my early 2000’s Travelpro Walkabout Lite 26†(style # 6426-01) rollaboard roller bag. The original plastic wheels were coming apart…which was not fun in the airport. These replacements fit perfectly! *Make sure to reuse the Travelpro axle as the new axles that come with the wheels have a head that would make it impossible to fit back in the enclosed case.* You will not need the black spacers from the old wheels…the old axle fits perfectly without them.To replace, you will need a Phillips screwdriver, a hammer or mallet, and something (a punch of some sort) to tap the axle out of the old wheels as it is in there pretty snug. Unscrew the screw holding casing to bag and slide the wheel unit out. Tap the axle out of old wheels, replace wheels, then tap the old axle back into the casing with the new wheels. Slide the whole thing back into your bag and replace screw. It was a 5 min job, and so much cheaper than buying a new bag. These new wheels have ball bearings which roll SO much smoother than the old ones. Can’t wait for my next trip!!
