Complete Steps for Creating a Unique Wax Seal Design
1.Place a white wax in the wax melting furnace and and use the spoon to melt colored wax beads above it.
2.Pour the melted wax onto the envelope seal or the desired stamping area.
3.Press the wax seal stamp gently onto the poured wax to imprint the design,and wait for 10 seconds.Don't remove the wax seal stamp immediately.
4.After the seal liquid has cooled, remove the wax seal stamp to reveal a unique DIY wax seal design.

This calligraphy set is really nice! I got the blue one and it looks very cool. I can't say how well it writes because I got this as an accent piece but it seems like it would work well for that purpose (I only made some simple lines with mine). The wax sealing part does actually work, which is cool, and will make you feel fancy using it and make the receiver feel special and important receiving something with a wax seal! Everything seems well put together and a good deal for the price. I'd easily pay full-price for this set. I would like to see other colors, particularly purple, but blue worked well fo me.

Really nice set that will also be great for gift giving. It’s been a long time since I’ve used my skills so I’m hoping to brush up with this set as soon as possible as I can! Beautifully and carefully packaged.Update: I’m finding the wider pen nibs aren’t working well enough to write but a letter at a time for me. Also to note, although the paper and envelopes in the set are pretty and nice quality, there are only 2 (2 pieces of paper and 2 envelopes).

I got this as just a fun thing to have and display. It looks really nice despite the relatively low price, It has a number of different tips to use for calligraphy. In fairness, I haven't used it so I can't really speak to the use of it, as I said, I got it for display and decorative purposes. It also comes with some melting wax and stamp. I might actually use that, just cause I like the idea of wax seals.

I got this in blue. It looks just like the photos and comes in a gorgeous gift box. This would be a great gift where all you'd have to do is wrap it or throw it in a bag. Everything is well made and appears to be high quality. It works well and is a great way to try out a variety of nibs/pens. This would be a great gift for someone who enjoys fantasy items, wants to try calligraphy, or just like pretty items like this. I love that it came with a variety of inks and a wax seal and the items needed to melt the wax. I'm so pleased with this set. It's going to be so fun to see this on my desk.

I really wanted to like this as maybe a writing instrument. It is all usable, but it is more for ornamentation. Maybe for a child experimenting with letter writing. It is a very beautiful set to look at but not the best for actual use. But maybe more usable with some upgrades.So I will start with the most obvious the writing instruments. They are beautiful to look at. They actually feel really good in the hand. They come with several nibs that are interchangeable. However these are not calligraphy nibs. They are fountain pen stub nibs of various sizes. This is where you would get some line variation because the nibs vary in width. However, they are plated, so they do not hold ink well. They are also very scratchy. They do not flex well sd they are not true calligraphy flex nibs, when I applied pressure to get line variation all I got was railroading. Now there could be a fix for this, but I am not sure if some other more standard calligraphy nibs fit. However, a really good Calligraphy nib can be purchased by itself for around $8. This would honestly make this a fully functional pen. So there is a very good chance this could be upgraded to a fine writing experience. This is honestly where the whole thing fell apart for me. Do not buy this kit for someone that knows fountain pens, inks, or calligraphy. They will not like it nor enjoy it.Inks, there is really no information as to what these are. I am not sure if they are dye based, or iron gall inks or what they are. It would be nice to know. I did swatch and try all of the inks on premium paper. There were no extraordinary properties, shading, sheening, etc. I didn't expect it to really at this price. But it would be nice to know what this ink is.The wax seal and melting spoon. This is honestly a nice touch. This right here is worth the cost. It is nice and reminiscent of a long forgotten part of letter writing. This uses a simply tea candle to melt the wax beads. You can buy more of these wax beads from Amazon when these are gone. It always ads a nice touch to letters or even cards and gifts. The wax seal included while it works. I would look into other wax seals. The wax seal included is a Fleur-de-lis, which is the coat of arms for France. Not sure why anyone that is not French would want that seal. But it is again great for display, great for kids, great for learning.I write every single day with fountain pens. I journal, I enjoy it. I practice Calligraphy for fun in my spare time. For me this was just not enjoyable beyond pure decoration. I may use the wax melting spoon on occasion though. I could see the allure to this kit, especially for the price. I write with the instruments I have for the pure enjoyment of the experience. For me this was not a good experience.

My son is a collector of inks, pens and stationary (he got it from me, I confess) so I got this as a birthday present for him. He loved it--especially the bright blue feathered pen. The set is not super top of the line quality, but it is certainly nice enough as a simple little gift and the package is very presentable. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to write or just play around with ink (like me). It is pretty and fun at a reasonable price!
