I don't have a binding machine and bought this to replace a smaller one on a book my son had made (and bound) at school. I was able to easily manually replace the old spine with this one. Like others have said, the spine is oval shaped, which is fine with me and means it takes up less space on the bookshelf since the spine is flatter. I was able to easily cut this to the desired length and was pleased to see a notch at each end of the spine to poke the first and last tooth into, thus locking it shut. Because I cut the one end off to make it shorter, I was left with only one lock. However, a dab of hot glue easily fixed the problem. Looks very nice and professionally done.

I ordered the Fellowes Plastic Comb Binding 1.5" with a capacity of 340 sheets in black and it is exactly as it was pictured. I have used this particular brand for years when I need to bind something and it has always worked well for me; and this pack was great also. I easily rate this a 5 out of 5.

I needed a quick solution and thought this was the perfect one. This product worked excellent. One issue, the delivered combs are Longated, not Round like the photo. Change website picture, or deliver to customers what is shown. Thanks

My wife's cook book was falling apart due to it's plastic binding rotting away over time, many years old and even without a binding machine, I was able to install this binding easily enough and it didn't take that long for me to do so, Her cook book is around 340 pages and it is back into like new condition, thanks to this binder!!! And, it doesn't separate when thumbing through the pages such as what others said it did.

I needed to replace the old broken spine of my book. After doing some cost analysis, purchasing a replacement spine was the most cost effective choice. I only needed one but had to settle for a 10 pack (still cheaper than anything else.) Though the new spine doesn't feel as heavy duty as the old spine, it seems like a good trade off because the new one is a little more flexible and far less brittle. This also made the spine much easier to trim to size. I used a pair of children's safety scissors. The locking feature is nice as the old spine didn't have it. I don't have a machine, and did the swap by hand. In all it took less than 5 minutes to achieve. I don't know what I'm going to do with the other 9 though.

Just a relief to find a bundle of 10 and not the super quantity: for light home use, I appreciate the lower quantity. Great product and note that you need to have the right binding machine that can take the sheet size! This size worked well about 480 sheets!

I really like that these lock in 3 places because the are so big! They work great! I have used 4 of them so far and they seem to be consistent in quality!
