I have rebuilt a handful of Subaru EJ25s and the OEM composite gaskets are junk, they just don't last. These FelPro multi layered steel gaskets are similar to what Subaru uses on their turbo engines, and they rarely fail. These are the best replacement head gaskets I have used, heads need to be "decked" or you need to ensure they are perfectly level since they aren't as thick and forgiving as composite gaskets. Do it right the first time and these will not fail.

Different color than pictured but still same feel/look. Sturdy mls. Will update how many miles I can put on with them. I've had bad experience with previous cheap head gaskets so let me say, don't go cheap, stick with felspro

I really like the quality of this product. It fit perfectly! However, I did not like that only one head gasket came in the package. It would have been better and helpful if the package had come with two head gaskets.

I have used them twice so far on my engine. Both times it worked fine. Engine failed for an unrelated reason after the first installation. These are probably better than the STI ones just because they have a thicker coating on them to help handle minor surface imperfections. However, these are still MLS head gaskets which do not tolerance anything beyond very minor surface imperfections very well beyond. If they fail after 10k miles it's almost certianly because they were installed wrong. Make sure everything is flat within spec. Have your heads machined. Clean the cylinder deck very well. If you can split the block, having the case halves machined is the best option.

Three layers of steel gaskets. This should solve your head gasket issues. Cheaper than oem mls gaskets. It has some kind of blue coating to last for thousands of miles. Well worth it. We'll see how long it lasts.

I like the Felpro gaskets. If you go with any thing other than triple-layer steel gasket on a Subaru, you'll be looking at problems down the road. This from an old car guy....

I have been working with this brand for a long time and I have never had problems but in this last purchase I only received one gasket instead of a couple

Exact fit from a reliable brand.2002 Suby Outback always dripped oil and couldn't determine source. After sitting for a few months, started to lose antifreeze. Online forums discuss that original gaskets are faulty after 100,000miles need replacement. Changed and now no more leaks.Changing suby head gaskets at home will save about $1-2000 of labour, but is not easy as about 1mm of room to remove head and bolts. Find as many online videos as you can to get the tips and tricks to do it.

These multi-layer steel head gaskets are an improvement over the original factory parts, which are a weak point on Subaru engines. Remember that Subaru engines have a horizontally opposed layout, so for a full rebuild you will need 2 gaskets... one for each side of the engine! Recommended. Mom's car got an engine-out clutch replacement over a year ago and we also did head gaskets at that time, car is still zooming.

These are better than OEM according to my son who is a journeyman tech and worked for Subaru. So I bought a second set for my 2009 outback 2.5 SOHC when he overhauled the heads.

These are necessary for repairing HG issues on Subaru EJ engines
