I had an exhaust leak where the mechanic did a sloppy weld. It was hard to get to and the weld was raised well above the pipe surface. A fiberglass patch eventually failed.I cut this gasket and wrapped it around the pipe, then applied several hose clamps. I would say it's 80% good. The problem I had was getting the gasket to coil tightly around the pipe. But it's not bad and I will try to tighten it up better later on.

Way bigger than I thought, especially for the price! I used some good scissors to cut, a vertical bandsaw might work better though. Also I used a sharp chisel and a hammer to cut out bigger holes.

I use band clamps on some slip fit pipe. The band clamps are a little loose fit for me. Cut this stuff out the width of the clamps and tightened up great.Read a review where it seems the person removed the aluminum like they were thinking the paper was a backing that was not supposed to be used.This is not the case! Do not separate the aluminum from the paper.Just wish it had foil on both sides. Like EGR gaskets, SOME exhaust manifold gaskets. But is not needed, Many header gaskets are just a heat proof paper like this gasket is.

They fooled me with the cardboard backer that made it appear to be a good thick robust gasket material. The actual material is very thin. Too thin to be of use. Useless. They cheated me. Thumbs down bigtime.
