This is a gasket for the water control valve (2nd thermostat) housing as shown in my photo. It slips behind that housing. This is a high quality metal gasket, and although you could reuse the old one, I think it’s better to just replace it with this one since the job is annoying.This was a perfect fit and no more issues with erratic temps for me!
