This is for the tube that pushes into the coolant flow housing that connects the thermostat housing to the block. It fits and seals fine. You may find the old one to seemingly be a different size but heat and coolant over time will do that to orings. It helps to apply a little silicone grease when installing so the oring doesn’t bind or roll in on itself.
