Please exercise caution with the valve cover on the e53 motor, soooooo many people crack these taking them on and off. That being said this is not a small job, but it can be done at home. There's quite a bit to it so make sure you follow your service guides or find videos online to watch with people replacing the valve cover gasket and grommets.
