If you have vintage guitars, or a vintage guitar, finding original parts can be a hassle. Between sellers who over charge to lack of OEM parts out there, the last guy in line is stuck with the chore of keeping the costs within reason, so they can finish one of those old beauty's.I was able to use this Fender Cover on my Kay, even though the screw hole pattern was narrower by 1/4-3/8 inch but that's not bad. I will need a piece to raise the cover about 1/4'' or more but I believe I can make that gasket out of something around my storage room. I think painting this cover black would suit it well since these old style pickup's are both chrome & black, which was normal for Teisco back then & I believe depending on the year, they were probably the company that supplied pickups to Kay, if it wasn't Gibson, who actually was a main supplier to Kay for a few years back in the 60's. Teisco on the other hand sold guitars & basses in the states from 1959/60 [we are not 100% sure], to 1968, before they closed up shop & sold off some of the makes & models that they normally carried & kept the Tesico brand in Japan & Asia. This is a whole other review, ''Guitars of the 60's & where did they come from.'' At any rate, If you have one of these older Kay or Teisco branded Bass, Fender Bridge Covers will work, if you can get it raised enough so it's clear of any adjustments you may need to do on the bass. You would need to make a gasket for it, at least 1/4'' thick. 3/8'' to 1/2'' would give you all the room needed for raising the strings to the proper height, which is what we're looking for. In the photo's you can see what it will look like, also the difference in the screw hole pattern. I plan on spraying it black so it falls into a better match with the pickup covers but since I actually wanted the closed rear cover that's made for the Fender P-Bass I believe but they have the measurements at 11.4 x 7.5 x 3.5 inches. Whoever put those measurements on the listing lost a lot of buyers by misrepresenting their own product.

the item is top quality, fits perfectly the 51 precision. If you use fuzz or distortion, the cover will increase the feedback a lot, which i find great for my purposes but some may call it an issue. Good price
