I’ve only used the warming tray twice (both time for hors d’ouveres)and have to tweak which serving dishes work best. I’d recommend ceramic, glass or metal. I did use a well made melamine platter but it wasn’t as effective as the others. Food stayed warm and edible! Looking forward to trying out with a full buffet. Sits well on my countertop. All my friends were intrigued and thought it was a great addition to home entertaining. A snap to clean and love the roll up design with the Velcro strap and drawstring bag. Easy to store in my pantry!

I was finally able to use the warming mat. What an awesome kitchen addition. I have a gas (counter) stove top so keeping dishes warm is hard to do for an extended period of time. Here are MY personal pros and cons:PROS:â—ï¸The carrying bag is awesome. Which means you can take it to all your family/work/friends meal gatherings. It also keeps the detachable cord from getting misplaced.â—ï¸the adjustable strap to keep it rolled up is genius. It’s the attention to detail and convenience that I look for in kitchen gadgets/items.â—ï¸multiple heat settings (max of 212°). The entire mat is the same for heat to be evenly distributed. Some foods need a lower heating (think a small dish/pan or a meat dish that doesn’t need further ‘cooking’). And some need a higher heat setting to stay warm/hot. I would suggest using a lid or cover on your dishes so the heat doesn’t escape the dish.â—ï¸plenty of room for large pans. I had a 6 qt and two 3 qt pans on the mat. Plenty of room to squeeze a small saucepan on there if needed.â—ï¸ there was NO silicone smell on first use.â—ï¸it was warm on the inside of the white lines. The edges didn’t heat up so you are able to touch the very edge of the mat.â—ï¸you can set the timer to keep dishes warm for various times. I only needed an hour. But it will go to 4 hours.â—ï¸the water droplets are from the condensation of the lids. Yes - that’s how warm/hot it kept my dishes. And the food didn’t stick/burn to the bottom of my stainless steel pans.â—ï¸the ‘fins’ on the bottom kept the heat of the mat from completely touching the countertop. They are approximately 1/4†high. I have a marble top so I can’t speak/suggest anything for a laminate top. My countertop did did get quite warm.â—ï¸the silicone is high quality and thick.CONS:â—ï¸ I can’t think of any. 😊If you cook a lot and need to keep the dishes warm. - you need this mat.

I have only used this twice, first time just to test it, second time to keep side dishes warm while I finished cooking the main dish. it works exactly as advertised, and heats up incredibly fast! I really hope this is constructed well, because I cook many large meals on a consistent basis for family and friends. I have always wanted one of those warming trays, but they are expensive and bulky, while offering very little heated surface area. This matt can hold A LOT of dishes at a fraction of the cost, and it has several, specific presets which most metal warming trays do not, or if they do it’s “hi/lowâ€, which doesn’t tell me anything about what temp it is going to keep my food at. You also get the bonus of silicon having an excellent “grippy†surface, so food can easily be served while it’s still on the mat. This is far more safe than having your serving dishes sliding around on a hard and slick surface while guests are trying to spoon up some mashes potatoes or something. Clean up is quick and easy, and it rolls up nicely for storage until the next family gathering!Just be wary of temperature settings for the type of surface you put it on. I have super thick, granite countertops that can handle extremely high heat, so I have no worries. You definitely do not want to use this on a plastic folding table, it will definitely do damage and even melt it. Just keep in mind that the heating element is just barely elevated above the surface that it is sitting on, so you do not damage your table or countertops.

I use mine When I have a brunch to keep my food warm. It works very well and it stores easily. Takes up no room in cabinet. The bottom of the heating mat does not get hot which is good if your putting it on a fold up plastic table for a party. It’s a great upgrade from the old heating trays. name brand Salton Which I have from the 70s. This mat , the temperature can be set on up to 212 degrees. And keeps your food warm. I keep my Corningware covered dishes with food on the mat. Works great! A little pricey but I use it a lot for entertaining. Leave the dishes on the mat and everyone serves themself. Buffet style. Or use it when making dinner. Doesn't dry up food.

This is okay to keep food warm though I do think some of my dishes could have been warmer. Light weight and looks cute on your countertop. Built well, not cheap quality.

I used this for a couple of family dinners, really testing it out, because I hold Thanksgiving at my house for 30+ people. It did GREAT! Warms by temperature YOU choose, so can just keep warm or hot, and you can set a timer for how long you want things heating, so you can spend more time with guests and less fussing with rewarming apps, keeping meats warm. Super easy to set up and wiped clean in a flash due to the silicone material. Cool it down and it rolls up and slides into a yoga mat type nylon bag for compact storage. I couldn’t be happier and see a second one in my future!

First use, I used this as a plate warmer, pleasantly surprised by how quickly it heats up, how easy it is to set and how well it warmed the plates.It sits sturdier than the traditional buffet server, heats up so much faster, and maintains the temperature of the food much better, the timer is an excellent feature and helps with energy efficiency. The material which it is constructed from is easy to clean and super safe should a spillage occur.The whole of the area heats to, and maintains the preset temperature, which is easily set or changed and clearly displayed on the neat control panel.Last night we used it to keep our takeaway buffet hot, it was so easy as I didn't have transfer into different containers, everything kept hot and everybody loved it.This is a must have item, it is good value for money, does exactly what it is supposed to do, and when or if you do want to store it, it fits easily and neatly into the bag.5 stars all round from me.
