tl;dr These are metal, high-quality, and a nice fit for my GE stovetop. So glad I purchased! The cheap plastic knobs that came with my appliance in my condo were beginning to fall apart (and dangerously so -- once they failed to turn off the gas). I wanted to order a replacement but all of the official ones were like $30! I was worried that these would be cheap and flimsy but took a chance. So glad I did! Out of the box, the quality was apparent! These are heavy and metal compared to the plastic ones that were installed originally. They are a nice tight fit on the stovetop and I had to push a bit to get them on all the way. Haven't had any issues with these coming off or coming loose or cracking. Beautiful upgrade for my kitchen and a great fix for me!

I like them, they are heavy, made of metal, fit well, and work perfect. I should have purchased them sooner to replace my original black knobs that cost many times more than these. I have no complaints about them. If you need them buy them. What else can be said. They are knos that replace knobs. The difference, is that these are a heavy metal that won't break so easily and the cost a great amount less than the originals.

These knobs are indeed metal and very heavy. They fit perfectly on the D-shafts and don't wobble at all, unlike the aftermarket replacements I've tried before. They look much better than the original black plastic knobs, and they don't melt when a pan bumps them. I've run them through the dishwasher and they haven't discolored.I'm removing one star because they sit visibly higher than the originals, and because the shank is plastic instead of metal. But the plastic is thick, it'll last a long time, and they're cheap enough that if one of them breaks years down the road, I can just buy another set. (GE wants more per knob for OEM plastic knobs than this entire set costs.) I can't believe it took so many years for someone to finally make cheap replacements that look good and don't wobble.

The knobs seem very well made and sturdy. They feel like metal. If they are metal, they are priced very well. I am happy with the purchase.

Perfect fit on my GE gas cooktop, they are heavy and real stainless steel - not plastic! Highly recommend.

The part of the knob that slides onto the stove valve is plastic. The whole point of having a metal knob is durability at this part of the knob - that is the part that breaks. I am so very disappointed with Amazon. Amazon has zero product quality interest.Update: a day after I posted this review, the Seller "Fetechmate Supplier", sent me a message apologizing for supplying a product I was not satisfied with and offering a full refund. I am very impressed with this offer and recommend this supplier based on their customer service.

I needed one knob on a GE cook top. When I got these, they were made of metal, the ones on the stove were plastic. So, I replaced all of them. Very please with these.

"Frequently returned item"?Not in my case. While I have some reservations after installing the metal knobs for my GE cooktop, I'm happy to finally replace the 11 year old plastic OEM knobs my cooktop originally came with that's showing its age.Pro:- Full metal knobs.- Finish of the knobs is outstanding with no flaws- Fits my existing cooktop perfectly.Cons:- Quality control could be better with the alignment of the knob slightly off in the closed position. The base is machine pressed onto the knob so I cannot adjust it so it is either to accept the slight flaw or return it if you're a perfectionist.- Replacement knobs sit 1/8 inch higher than my original OEM GE knobs when fully installed (pressed down firmly). The gap between the stove and the bottom of the knob is at 3/8 inch for the replacements while the originals OEM plastic knobs are at 1/4 inch. I'd much prefer the original gap but it's not a dealbreaker for me.These knobs have the "D" shaped connector so be sure to check your cooktop to see what you have to order accordingly.Despite the cons listed above, these knobs meet my requirements in terms of price and knob material, specifically metal vs. plastic.
