PRODUCT FEATURES

Excellent material

Excellent material

Made of copper parts with reliable quality and long service life.

Alloy insert

Alloy insert

The welding insert has good electrical and thermal conductivity, and is stable in use.

Copper joint welding

Copper joint welding

The arc melts the copper wire to form an integral body, which becomes a conductor with good contact.

interface screw

Interface screw

The materials used are excellent to ensure the stability and reliability of the product.

wide application

Wide Application

To measure a large DC current, such as tens of amperes, or even larger, hundreds of amperes, a shunt is used at this time. Shunts are widely used in scenarios where large currents are measured, such as communication systems, automatic control power supplies, and other loop seat current limiting.

Works as a 300 amp shunt should, I wish metal bridge was coated, but not a problem unless water and moisture happens. For most accurate analog meters work excellent, however digital amp meters can show into milliamps, analog meters tend to show by amps rather than milliamps. Digital meters are much more sensitive to small amperage readings. Make sure very important to make sure your meter you use is compatible with a 300 amp shunt and a 75mv rating.

You can’t go wrong with these are use them with an amp meter on the ground side of a battery and has no problems. We have quite a few in the system.

The shunt arrived as pictured after a ridiculously delivery time of one month. Seems to work as designed but would be nice if this had a mounting base. Would have been 5 starts but only 4 because of the long wait.

Apologies to anyone who read my earlier (and rather unfortunate) review bad-mouthing this perfectly adequate shunt. The unit I received is--within my ability to measure--close enough to 5 mOhm. (0.075 V / 15A = 0.005 Ohms)The basic accuracy spec of even my $7k hp/Agilent/Keysight 34420A microOhmeter is not sufficient to simply trust a 5 milliOhms reading by itself, but 1 mOhm and 10 mOhm resistance standards read close to spot-on. So I am confident that my 0.004896 Ohm reading is credible. Fielect's claim of 0.5% accuracy is probably an exaggeration at this price-point, but -2% is reasonable and good enough for what it's for.I don't know about its temperature coefficient, so I can't say how close it would be at the full 15 Amps. However, I'm not too worried as the element is non-magnetic (in keeping with manganin or similar resistance alloys.) It would take a significantly positive temperature coefficient to bring it to 0.5% at the maximum current.
