I am using this as a trap door actuator for a rifle brass annealer. It works perfectly, has plenty of strength and is quiet. Being able to remove the shaft and reinstall it after connecting the linkage in the housing was a bonus. The return spring is plenty strong as well.

If after you purchased this solenoid, you realized there's no return travel stopper and on de-energize the plunger becomes airborne, there's a fix! The rear of the plunger has metric threads. Go to Home Depot and purchase an M4-0.7x30mm metric screw, place a micro dab of silicone caulk on the end of the threads, press in the solenoid plunger and insert the screw in the rear. Turn in the screw until the head just makes contact with the backside of the coil with no spring tension. See the attached. Add a "B" onto the part# to order with the stopper. The solenoid has good pull-in strength. I gave it four stars because the photo for the JF-1039 actually shows a JF-1039B which is misleading

I bought this for a home entertainment project that required a solenoid to pull a switch and it works perfectly. Very solid and functional exactly as described.

It looks like this jf-1039 solenoid does not come with the bolt in the back to hold the shaft from falling out. I ordered a replacement thinking that they forgot to add the bolt, but the replacement had the same issue no bolt.I will just keep them both since I can put m4 bolt in the back to hold the shaft. I wonder why they designed it like that.
