This is fiesta, which means its tough us made stoneware. The plates tend to get tiny scratches over time, but as a family with three small boys, we've chipped two dishes in over 7 years(one was due to poor packaging on shipment, and the other a drop on stone floors, and broken a few with big drops on our stone floors -- but many of our fiesta pieces have even survived such drops if they were slowed down by a garment or hand or something -- And I love the excuse to add a new color to our fiesta rainbow in the kitchen. The cereal bowl that comes with the place setting is kind of large, so this size works great for a correctly sized serving of fruit, crackers etc. Even works for soup for toddlers. The ivory color complements any food, and berries etc. look scrumptious served up in this color.BTW if you are looking for tough and lead free these and in the smaller and larger sizes are incredibly tough daily glassware.

I never serve bouillon (unless someone is sick) but this cute little bowl is just right for a side serving of cottage cheese or applesauce or salsa or even a small serving of soup. No doubt it would be good for bouillon!The day I ordered mine the scarlet and sunflower were at a reduced price and that's why I chose those colors. They are great! Today I see all the colors are at full price. That isn't out of line, they are worth it, but I'll check once in a while and buy other colors as they get discounted. It is part of the fun of building a collection piece by piece.I love that these are made in the US in a classic, timeless design. And buying from open stock is so FUN!

The Lapis Bouillon Cup is perfect. The size is perfect. I had an issue with a different item in my order and they worked hard to make it right. They responded very quickly. I will buy from them again.

I bought this for my roommate to use as a shaving bowl and it works perfectly for that purpose, though the soap was too tall and I had to cut it in half to avoid messes while lathering with the brush. The diameter is just right for the organic soap I bought (from the Men's Soap Company). It's a beautiful bowl (as is all Fiestaware, IMO). The only thing I didn't like too much is that the insignia on the bottom is barely there, whereas you can clearly see it on the other dishes I've bought. I really had to look closely and rub my finger over the area to make sure it was there. I almost thought it was a knock-off for a minute. I can just barely make out the imprint because it's so shallow. At any rate, it looks nice on the shelf next to my roommate's shaving set, and as always, I'm happy to find stuff made in the USA.

I wanted to add some color to my basic black and white Fiestaware so I chose a few of these bowls. The colors are beautiful (I chose the shamrock and tangerine) and the bowl is very cute--perfect for a small snack or scoop of ice cream. I will be ordering more colors! My only problem with Amazon is their packing/packaging methods. Two small bowls were shipping in a HUGE box with some bubble wrap an a few air pillows. I am surprised they arrived in one piece as they were bouncing around inside the box. In conclusion, great dishes but better packaging is needed.

This is such a useful bowl. As soon as I received this, I went to the official Fiesta site to buy 6 more (buy 5, get 1 free). I've bought MOST of my Fiesta pieces from Amazon because of the great prices, but you can get 6 of these on Fiesta for about the price of 2 here. *shrug*This is an awesome salsa bowl, treat bowl, dip bowl, single serving of ice cream bowl, etc. I also have fruit bowls and small bowls, but I use these bouillon bowls the most!

How many of us begin dinner with a small bowl of bouillon these days? Probably none. But these are useful little bowls that I keep handy for so many uses. Here are a few of the things I use them for: toppings for tacos, like slices olives or green onions, or for small servings of premium ice cream or pudding. Little extras for a Thai dinner, like dipping sauces or toasted coconut. Nuts, peanut butter pretzels; you get the idea. And I love that they come in a slew of colors. We have fun with these - they are tiny workhorses!

Cute bowl, I've been purchasing these for awhile and wanted this color to match the others that I have. unfortunately it arrived with a chip on the side and can't reach the seller.
