I tested this item on a tarp to shade me while i washed my truck, the wind was blowing and the tightener held firm and the tarp stayed in place.

I normally use a “trucker’s hitch†when tying a ridge line or tying down items in my truck. The downside to this is that the 550 cord I use ends up cutting itself over time. By using this item, I won’t have to replace my cordage nearly as often, if at all. I also like how lightweight the item is- it weighs almost nothing. So far, the only con I have is that it seems like I can’t get my line quite as tight compared to when I use a trucker’s hitch. Time will tell if these hold up to hard use, but for now, they’re a part of my camping gear and I’ll continue to use them.

The advert does not mention the size capabilities and I had assumed it would suit me just fine. My mistake, too small for practical use. One review states that it is useful for holding a tarp in place but most ropes would not fit. Maybe yarn or a small cord, but no ropes.

Superb for a quick and really tight ridgeline using paracord for your tarp or just securing stuff in a trailer, I’ve bought two packages now and use them a lot
