Reviews that stated fit issues means the user doesn't know what type of fin they needed before purchase. This will fit a surf base fin box not a US fin box. Compared this fin to my race carbon fin for stability in choppy water there is about a 2% difference in shape. Both have exact angle at 45 degrees. Yes carbon fin was stiffer, lighter and feels great. The carbon fin is 7 to10 times more expensive. So for this fin it is a great buy to have the stability and design for any paddle board without breaking the bank. It looks tough enough to take a beating and you won't feel like you lost $ beaching it.

Good price but fits loosely in the fin box so there is quite a bit of play back and forth so wouldn't call it universal
