Quite a fantastic addition to any emergency kit or go bag or bugout bag. Super small and easy to stash in different places. I don't want to fuss around with ferro-rods or anything like that. A plain ole' lighter and a few of these could absolutely take you far. Just gotta break them open - light them - and sit back. I like to pair these with candles for emergency use as the candle continues to burn for maybe 1-2 hours and provides a consistent flame. These work just as well and are more smaller to carry. Than a few candles. Even if they're tea candles. Never tested the waterproof-ness of it but I can say they do help you start fires.

I am an avid camper and also love to sit in our backyard with our fire pit and watch a movie on our portable movie screen. Last week we had a difficult time getting our wood to light because I didn’t have any fire staters. When I found these fire plugs I decided to order them because they were a great deal for 24 fire starters. I didn’t pay close attention so when they arrived I was shocked by how small they are. Each fire plug is a little over an inch long and didn’t look very promising. I decided to test them out in our fire pit and was impressed by how well they preformed. You have to twist the plug to break through the wax layer and then you ignite the plug where you broke through the wax. The plug lit immediately and lasted for quite a while and certainly long enough to light our kindling. After I went back to look at the detail of the fire plugs I decided that I will be keeping these in our car rather than using them for our fire pits. The fact that these are waterproof and in a small travel container makes them perfect for emergencies. Like I mentioned before I was doubtful about how well these fire plug fire starters would work but they have proven that they are small but mighty. They give me peace of mind knowing that they are there in case of an emergency.

I have tested a few of these fire starters and have found them to be easy to light, that they give off a big flame, and that they have a long burn. In my tests they would burn for about 4.5 minutes before the flame fell off significantly. Also, they burned completely leaving little residue.One note - Do follow the instruction on the box for lighting. The pieces need to be snapped in the middle to expose the inner material that is easier to light.

I purchased this specifically for emergency situations and for our Bug Out Bags. I love how compact the box they are in is, and these babies work nicely for quick starting a fire. Also great for camping! I'll definitely be purchasing more to keep multiples stocked and ready. Great buy!

they light quickly, even in windy conditions, and burn for a long time. i’ve used them for campfires and my indoor fireplace, and they never fail. great for emergencies or regular outdoor use. ive added it to my camping box and my emergency kit

These fire starters are great! Easy to use and very effective for getting a fire going quickly with just a lighter. They come in a handy little tin, which is perfect for camping or outdoor activities. They worked wonders for my outdoor grill, though I can’t speak for their long-term durability in extreme conditions. All in all, they’re a solid product and well worth the price!
