Fire Sprinkler Paint Covers
Instructions - Step 1: Gently remove the outer ring (skirt) of the escutcheon by either lifting a drop-ceiling tile or using your fingertips or a tool to separate it from the harder, fixed surface. A gentle tug and/or twist is usually all that is needed.
Warning: The sprinkler head and vial inside must not be damaged at any time during this process. Paint must not get on any part of the sprinkler head, vial or escutcheon.
Instructions - Step 2: Place the Paint Cover over the sprinkler head and gently press into place over the inner ring of the escutcheon. You are now ready to paint safely around your sprinkler head.
Instructions - Step 3: Immediately upon completion of your painting project, remove the paint cover and replace the outer ring. Failure to do this step will result in your sprinkler system not activating in a timely fashion.
Warning: Paint covers must be removed to facilitate faster fire sprinkler activation, reducing the risk of serious damage and endangerment.
The sprinkler head, vial and escutcheon must not have paint on them or it can delay activation of the sprinkler system causing serious damage and endangerment.
