The product seems to be of good quality especially for the price. It holds fish just fine. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the weighing system. The handle pulls out to tell you the wheight which is extremely hard to read even with 20/20 vision.

This thing is GREAT! Revolutionized fishing for me. I no longer have to touch the fish - at all! No fishy smell on my fingers, no harming the fish by removing its' protective slime barrier by getting it on my hands. I've used this for well over 100 fish already and not a single one got off or got injured. Smooth release when you're ready. Gets weight and length in moments without keeping the fish out of the water longer than necessary. Smooth action too.

Really wanted this to be great. The gripper itself works very well and the tape measure pointing straight down is a big help for determining fish length while hanging. However, I find the scale to be pretty useless and difficult to read. It doesn't seem to work well unless the fish is at least 4 lbs or so and it's very difficult to read the markings because the etching isn't very deep and it's recessed under a lip.If you fish deep slat water or don't need the scale, it's a good value. I'll be moving to a digital scale with a measure in the near future. Hard to determine a new personal best if you can't trust or easily read the scale :)

I have the one with the built in retractable measuring tape. Don’t get that one. The measuring tape is made of metal and rusts making a mess when it’s wet.The fish gripper works great.

Best 15.99 I've ever spent. I do alot of Catfishing and it's to cold now to get in the eater and pick them up. I received this today and have used it a few times tonight. What a great thing to have! Should of bought this a long time ago. 5 star all the way, as far as the scale I do not know how accurate that is but as far as getting fish in and out of the water it's the best thing ever!

Seems to be made well, but it is not digital, and we wanted digital. When I searched on Amazon for a digital fish scale I don’t know why this was shown to me. I saw the price compared to others and the price was best and I bought it. I guess I should of read better about the product.The box it came in had no writing on it and there was no paperwork in the box for how to use or state where it was made.We will probably return the item.
