These hooks work well for securing a hood to a live shrimp without puncturing a hole in the shrimp. Longer lived and livelier shrimp result in better results in the cooler. The hooks are sharp and well shaped, but should be rinsed after use in saltwater to avoid rust.The instructions seem to suffer from translation issues. "Just gently put the rubber into the shrimp gun," probably means "slide the elastic loop around the horn (rostrum) of the shrimp." But the video does a good job of showing how to use the hook and how the shrimp can move almost normally.

Found the springs to be way too much tension causing the shrimp to break back anchor point. If the O ring was a touch more stretchable it might work a little better. There are some some elastic oval rings in the box, but there is no information anywhere that I can find that explains the function or how to apply them to the rig. If there were a way to attach them to the spring it might reduce the breaking of the shrimps back.

These hooks are designed specifically for live shrimp fishing, and they do a great job of keeping the bait securely in place. The design, including the holes, helps to prevent the shrimp from sliding off the hook, which is a common problem with other hook types.

I have used these live shrimp rigs since they first came out a couple of years ago. I fish the Sebastian Inlet in South Florida and these have helped me step up my catches. Snook and redfish and an occasional mutton snapper seam to be the most common prey going after my bait.They are good rigs, but, they don’t last forever. Stock up with some when you find them.I prefer to use monofilaments in the 15-20 pound range when I use this type of hook.

I have never seen these before and love them. Awesome how you can attach the shrimp and have a more realistic action on your line. They have worked great so far from the pier in Texas.

These are well made and designed hooks for fishing with live shrimp. They are easy to rig once you get the hang of it and work perfect for probably the most popular live bait used in Florida. The hooks are super sharp and the design of the rig lengthens the life span of the shrimp and allows it to have a more natural action. These are outstanding hooks.Damon M. Tatem
