This Tripquips Fishing Rod and Reel combo is surprisingly good for the price! The telescoping rod and reel combo works great and would be perfect for fishing in a local pond. This kit also includes a lot of other things to get you started with fishing as a hobby. You get a bag to carry your rod in, fishing grippers, pliers, and some lures and hooks. This is really all you need to go out and do a little fishing. It would also be a great kit to keep in your trunk if you wanted to stop and fish somewhere. Overall, really nice kit and very happy with it!

This combo set is an inexpensive entry level rod and reel which on a scale of 1-10 as compared to the worse and best that is available would rate about a 5. But again it is not fair to rate it against the expensive high end rod and reels so I will give my review comparing it to others in the same price range and category which is why I am giving it 4 stars.Review:1. the rod telescopes from a compact 17" to a full length 6.9 ft pole. as with all poles the more sections the pole has the more impact it has on the overall functioning of the pole so there is all ways a trade off between functionality and convenience. while this pole extends and I had no problem with the sections collapsing while in use when collapsed all the way down there is no friction to keep them from sliding back out so they include a plastic cap that fits over the pole end to keep it in place when it is collapsed. while this works well I would have preferred that they pole had some internal hold to it like most of the other telescopic rods have ,2. The Reel is light and of reasonable quality for the price and has a nice feature that with a push of a button the handle will fold flat against the real which is far better than most I have used where you have to unscrew the handle a little in order for it to rotate flat. This design is much better. It comes pre loaded with line but the line is way to thick and stiff for the reel and should be replaced with a lighter weight line maybe a 6lb or 8lb max of a limper line that would have less memory.3. The rod and reel does cast well. I tried it with both 1/4oz and 1/8 oz weight and even with the heavy line that it comes with it cast very well and I would expect with the proper line it would do even better4. it comes with several accessories. The case is nice in that it will contain your pole, reel and some gear in a nice compact travel case that you can easily keep in the trunk of your car or even suitcase incase you come upon a fishing spot during your travels. It comes with a small assortment of lures that are very basic and while they might catch a fish they are lower quality. The fish grabber while is surprisingly good and should work fine, the multi purpose pliers is all but useless and poor qualityConclusion:This is a fairly good inexpensive basic travel rod and reel set. It would be a good entry level rod and reel or an extra rod and reel to keep in your car.

This portable fishing set is great! It has the pole, reel, pliers, fish grabber and more even down to lures and a carrying/storage case! Great find!

I've never fished using telescoping rods before and I know the obvious drawbacks, so I wasn't expecting all that much especially with a kit.The rod: I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality. Each section smoothly extends and retracts, and locks into place. The action and speed of the tip actually feel good and responsive. Of course we do get a plastic reel seat and foam grips instead of a metal seat and cork grips, but that is to be expected. Overall, I very much like this rod. Transportation to and from difficult to reach fishing spots is SO much easier with a telescoping rod.The reel: I very much like the look of the reel. It's a solid reel, and the collapsing handle is a very nice touch. It is a noisy reel. You can hear a bit of grinding going on inside when you're reeling in. I'm sure this will be easily fixed with some grease. The line it came pre-spooled with was crap. It was stiff and running on pure memory. So I swapped it out with my Berkley Trilene XL 6lb line. Worked fantastic.The fish gripper: This one really surprised me. This is a solid gripper. Heavy duty metal and strong springs.The pliers: Not the best. I can tell they will bend and warp if you struggle against larger hooks. But for light fishing, they work fine.The lures: I only tested a few. All of the lures except the topwater popper have barbed J-hooks instead of the usual barbed treble hooks. The topwater popper worked fantastically. Caught a 12" smallmouth on it. Unfortunately I then proceeded to cast it into a tree, whipped it back to save it and exploded it against a rock.Overall, I really like this telescoping rod kit. I see myself regularly taking this wherever there is fishable water.

The line that comes with the rod and reel is your standard bad fishing line. So I can't fault the company for that, but the rod itself was no problem at all and the reel was nice too. I'm not a regular fisher, so my opinion on this isn't the most valuable, but I after I replace the line on this I'm going to take it back out and see how it does.

I always keep fishing rods & reels in our RV so when we go camping by the ocean or the lake I can go fishing and the only complaint was these items took up to much valuable storage space and we found this 2 pack Fishing Rod, 6.9ft Telescopic Fishing Rod and Reels Combo kit with Fishing tackle that comes with 2 rolls of fishing string and a carry case. I have done a lot of salt water fishing and caught some large fish without any issues and when I am done these fishing poles collapse and neatly tuck away in the carry case for easy storage. we love this set and highly recommend them.
