I’ve been working out most of my life. I had a strong body in the past but noticed over the past 2 years I’ve lost most of my musculature due to aging and other reasons. I’ve heard that if you had good muscle tone most of your life, your muscle memory will be able to find it’s way back, and that’s what I’m working for. Simple things like opening jars have become more difficult so I am trying to gain my strength back.I got this Fitarc Burn Machine and OMG. I’m going to review how to use it and my first time I used it. If you want the specifics about the mechanics of the machine, re-read the description page. The product itself is well made and pretty heavy. It has resistance built in so you turn a knob and can adjust it from 1 to 5, with 5 being the tightest resistance. You get a pair of gloves, a towel and some wrapping tape to cover the steel bars to make them more comfortable. At first I thought the bars were fine, pretty comfortable, until I did my first set. There are 5 training methods in the program. The included instruction manual shows pictures how to do these properly. For each method you do 5 sets of 30-90 seconds, 15-20 seconds apart. There’s a lot of other moves you can do as well as create your own. It’s a hard but fun and responsive workout. Here are the training methods:1) High position rotation: where you raise your arms up in the air (pointing upward) and rotate the bars quickly as if you’re fast punching a speed bag.2) Flat position rotation: when you raise the bars chest high and again fast punch rotate.3) Horizontal rotation: holding the bar horizontal so it’s parallel to the ground and then rotate it quickly.4) Forearm training: holding the handles starting with your palms facing down, hold the machine horizontally, rotate the forearms so that your palms end facing up.5) Flip wrist & push: hold the machine horizontally, holding the handles palms facing down, next bring the machine into your chest then flip your wrists to rotate the machine 360 degrees with your wrists up, straighten your wrists and then quickly push the machine out, extending wrists.LOL, I did one set and lasted for 60 seconds but had to change the training method throughout as it was too heavy to do the same one for 60 seconds. The first training method felt a little odd because it isn’t like you are punching in a straight line up in the air. There is a curve of sorts in the machine it felt like that I suppose is to give the feeling of rotating to and from a speed bag. It threw me off and that’s when I started moving on to the other training methods within that first 60 seconds. They all are simple enough moves and it will just take time and training to do it for longer. It was my first time and I am a small 4’11 framed female but I definitely could feel the burn and know this is a great way to strengthen my wrists, forearms, arm joint flexibility, core stability and body coordination, biceps, triceps, deltoids, latissimus dorsi and obliques over time. Honestly, as I went through the motions, the only negative was the bars did begin to dig in my hand at some points so that’s why the gloves and tape I guess. I wasn’t going to use them but after that first session, I will now.I think it’s a really clever way to work the muscles and I’m looking forward to the returns. I keep it next to my desk so I can lift it whenever I feel the desire during my day. I have had no issues and do recommend it.

I’m impressed with how solidly made this wrist exerciser is. The weight of it alone provides a useful exercise, which my scale revealed to be slightly under 12 pounds. It comes with two gloves that aid in grip and offer protection against the metal handles. The gloves fit my man-size-large hands. Since the fingers are cut off, I could see them fitting on smaller hands, too. Alternatively, there is tape included (like what would go on a tennis racket) that can be wrapped around the handles to offer padding. When ordering, I was expecting the metal handles to bother me some, so I was glad to see these two options for padding. Thankfully, I found I didn’t need them. The handles don’t cause any discomfort or pain, which I find to be a pleasant surprise. That’s the positive. But it paves the way to what I find to be the negative. Part of the reason the metal handles don’t bother me is that the resistance when turning them is lower than expected. Even when set to max pressure. I own another hand rotator that offers 11 pounds of resistance, which feels much higher than this one by Fitarc. There’s no exact setting when operating the resistance knob. It shows the numbers 1-5, but no pointer corresponds to those numbers. Instead, the knob will keep turning until it becomes too stiff to increase. According to the manual, turning it too tight or loose will cause the spring to pop out. So, I probably have it tighter than I should, and yet the resistance is still lower than anticipated. The knob is not the most comfortable to grip and turn, either.### Conclusion ###While I’m disappointed in the low resistance offered when turning the handles, I do still find I get a decent workout using this rotator. It’s mostly from the weight combined with the exercise movements. As someone who uses a keyboard and mouse all day, I do like that it works out my wrists and arms. In that sense, I do find value in this machine. Just wish it offered more power to twist.

I've tried a couple of similar-looking products which were "spring loaded", so you would twist them so far, and they would spring back. If you're looking at this and wondering, is this just like one of those spring-loaded things? No, no it is not. Those spring-loaded versions of this device are really only good for 1 exercise. So far, I've figured out at least 3 different muscle groups I can work with this, and I've just picked it up and started using it.It works by friction, but know that the "action" isn't rough or gritty, but rather ball-bearing smooth. The entire thing is made of metal, and it's heavy. Just holding up the weight of it is, by matter of fact, a boost to the exercise level this provides. You'll literally be blown away by how heavy it is and how solid it feels in the hand. Turn the knob and the friction increases or decreases. Then you just do the exercises you want to do with it. When you start to burn out, you can loosen it a bit and push a bit further, which is awesome. This is such a huge upgrade and improvement over one of those spring-loaded plastic things that it's difficult to express in words. It almost requires hieroglyphics or interpretive dance or something, it's seriously an order of magnitude over one of those things. And the price? For the quality of what you're getting here, I can't believe they sell this for $60. This is amazing. If you're looking to ramp up your arm workout, this is a tool you seriously want to consider getting. And you should probably order it before they figure out they can get $100 bucks for it, the value here is incredible in my opinion. 5 stars.
