I dont even know where to start with this thing. This tool is amazing and does exackly as advertised. I got this shovel with the extensions for 75usd and free overnight shipping. The metal is really strong and hard to sharpen lol.I used it today as a hoe to plant 100roses and some bamboo trees. It was super fast to learn how to use the shovel and worked great. The extensions are a must have for this product/tool.The extensions came in a really nice bag but the extensions fit perfect in the nornal bag so im going to use the extensions bag for two lifestraws. The whistle works great. The small knife with the saw was great. Really nice product. The weight even with the extensions is not alot at all and wouldnt mind carrying it all day if needed. I highly recommend this product by fivejoy.

This is a great shovel. Much better than the knock off that I have from that large, Asian country that shares it's name with fancy dinner plates. In my opinion, this is too large for backpacking, which is what I got it for. I think I'll leave this one in my car or van or take it when I car camp. I think I will add the smaller one to my wishlist and grab it when I have the money and the spare weight in my pack. It is sturdy and the metal is thick. The accessories are nested in metal and not cheap plastic. The knife is sharp and I highly recommend keeping the little rubber piece that sheaths it. Nice bit of kit and kicks a Mil-Spec E-Tool's ass any day.

The shovel is well built, sturdy, and hefty. Doesn't feel cheap at all - which isn't.Everyone needs one of these in their car(s). I can only imagine what you'll go through if your car gets stuck in 2 feet of snow. It will also be good to have if you take your 4x4 onto the beach during the summers. You can dig yourself out of sand if you get stuck. Overall, it is a very functional tool everyone should own.I really like the black sheath/pouch that it comes with. I also ordered the extensions, and everything fits in there nice and snug.Get yourself one, or two. You won't be disappointed. It also makes for a great gift/stocking stuffer.

UPDATE: I received the handle extensions today. Fit and finish are on par with the shovel. I will state that the designers picked the right length for each. I dug a few holes, hoed a few rows and the length is well suited to short duration heavy work like one finds when using this type of tool. My personal plus, because I'm old and don't like clutter, is that the extentions fit in the sheath that holds the shovel and original handle without needing the sheath supplied with them. Nice touch, intentional or otherwise.Like most folks, at least I'd hope this is true, I put this shovel straight to work. First order of business was to split some kindling. Granted it was only redwood, but the pieces were 13"+ long and 2.5" - 3" thick. First few strikes were unsteady as I was not used to the weight distribution. However, once that was sorted, the tool split the kindling with only a few more strikes than a hatchet. Which, given its not designed as a hatchet, impressed me. Changing the shovel configuration is done with positive actions, and once in place the configuration is solidly locked in place. Digging or hoeing were no problem. The knife will more than accomplish one's needs in a pinch, as will the limb saw. The flint and whistle work as they should as well. The sheath for the shovel and handle seems sturdy enough, as is the shovel blade sheath, but only time and use will tell. Material quality is good, fit and finish are equal to or better than what I'd expect for the cost of the tool.Overall, I'd purchase this kit again, and have no qualms about providing it to a family member for daily or emergency use on an off-road trip.

Awesome shovel! Mine came a couple of days ago and I've already used it to shovel holes in hard soil for several hours straight (helping a friend plant a peach orchard). The blade is beefy and sharp (but not too sharp to have out around kids) and you can really step down on it to get it to bite, and took on the handle to lever out dirt. Folds up small but isn't feather weight - I wouldn't take it backpacking but it will be perfect to stow in the back of our diesel truck/camper for off road emergencies or just tasks around camp. The handle extension is important if you actually intend to shovel with this, I wouldn't consider purchasing the shovel alone without the handle extension. I will note that you have to be careful about twisting the shovel handle in a counterclockwise direction when pulling it out of hard dirt as it can unscrew the segments of the handle, and when you take it apart after shoveling for a while the pieces can get screwed together pretty tightly. Came apart fine with a bit of elbow grease though.

It's rare, very rare, for me to be impressed beyond my expectations about a tool I order; especially after I spend countless hours researching the product. The superior quality of this multi-tool impelled me to write this review. Is it hype, marketing, corporate words?I was not expecting this multi-tool to be so stout, well-built and so functional. After 14 days of extensive, heavy use dry camping from the Oregon coast to the Southern Oregon interior, in my humble opinion, this tool is essential for every camper, rv owner, hard core packer, prepper..for that matter any vehicle owner.I tested it, from the coast of Oregon to it's mountain innards, it works. It digs, cuts, chops, saws effortlessly. With the pack it comes with, it now houses my other 4 essential tools.

Gets the job done but it is strongly recommended purchasing the extensions offered by Amazon. The extensions will definitely make your choirs actually tolerable.

Bought this and the extension handles. Both are very well made. O rings seal the threaded sections together. Tried the tool used as an axe, cross grain on a downed, dried out tree. Did an acceptable job. Locked the tool into the shovel position and tried it on sun baked badlands soil. Very good as both shovel and adze positions.Pried with the head embedded into sandstone, sand, rock mixture and no issues. This tool folds up to a very compact size and so far has been excellent. Bought a second unit to use in another vehicle as part of the emergency kit.

Overall, I’m happy with it but...- the handle grip comes loose and slips around.- not the best carrying bag as the saw blade is subject to damage- joint pin connecting handle and head comes loose with harsh use. There are plenty of thing to love like...- flint is big and good quality- saw blade is pretty good- shovel head is thick quality steel.Just be careful to make sure that the pin keeping the head attached to the handle doesn’t come loose and fly into the bush...):
