The elastic is just the right amount of strong, the slits in the elastic make it easy to get just the for you want and need and the included buttons fit well and work perfectly for choosing your desired tightness.It's easy to work with and versatile, you can use it to add elastic to garments that it would just be nice to have elastic on, replace old or damaged elastic and more. I've used it to replace the elastic in the waistband of four old pairs of pants that the elastic wore out on so that they can stay up on their own even with a moderate-light load in the pockets. I'd definitely recommend this elastic if you're in need of such, the thinness of it makes it workable and despite that it's fairly strong and durable.

I used this to make some much-too-big jeans fit around the waist. I had considered purchasing just elastic and sewing it in, but I like the option of adjusting later with the buttons. The elastic did seem a bit flimsy at first, but it’s held up well.

My husband lost some weight recently and his pants are getting loose, including the pants of a nice suit he wants to wear to an event. I'm not skilled enough at sewing to do a proper job of taking them in, but I was able to use this elastic to give him a way to cinch them up a bit in an evenly distributed, inconspicuous, comfortable way. And easily removable, in case he gets them professionally altered at some point.There was a whole lot going on in that waistband (multiple layers of different kinds of fabric) and I didn't want to cut any holes in it. But I cut two strips of this elastic in sections with 8 button holes each, and sewed one above each front pocket, inside the waistband. I just stitched vertically through the elastic and the whole waistband, right in the center of the elastic so 4 button holes were on each side of the seam. Then I sewed a button just past each end of the elastic. He can now adjust the waist size by moving the buttons to different positions on the elastic, with four different places he can make an adjustment. It keeps any "bunching" in the least conspicuous parts of the waist, and evenly distributed.It was nice that it came with a few buttons, even though I used my own, so I had a good idea of what size would work well in the stretchy holes. I'm glad I bought extra because I really see this stuff coming in handy a LOT!

I saw a YouTube on this method for reducing the size of pant waistbands and when I searched for just the elastic on Amazon, there was this perfect kit, including the buttons! Have done three pairs of pants so far and now my pants fit waist perfectly. Takes about 30 minutes to do and all you need in addition to this kit is is a razor blade and a safety pin. No sewing! No scary picking apart existing seams!
