I returned these. Terrible sound quality! I'm not sure how they are supposed to be used with a pillow. They do not have good sound quality even if you put them right on your ear and they are hard plastic so would not be comfortable to sleep on. I returned them. The soft felt-like speakers used in the headbands work much better for me as pillow speakers and they have good sound quality.

These are quieter than the phone's volume with no speakers. Maybe helpful to keep a partner from waking up dt your podcast/ music, but most speakers do increase volume/ have adjustable volume. I could just turn my phone volume down.

On first try the sound the was nearly inaudible and had a lot of interference, but it worked better after cleaning the jack. As one of the item images mentions, it's more of a flat earbud than a speaker, so it is not very loud. But the design lets you easily tuck it into a pillow or headband where it sounds okay as long as your ear is close.
