It's a little rough on the casting. I expected this level of quality for the price. Contrary to other reviews, I had no problems with the item after I detailed it a little by removing casting flash from the output nipple. The o ring was robust, sealing the standpipe in the petcock and the petcock to the tank. It does have a main and reserve feature, and works well. AND>>>> unlike other "universal" petcocks that are advertised for the YamaHopper QT50, this one is actually short enough to fit the squatty tank without modification. It's in, it works, and I'm back to scottering around getting 85MPG. No weep from tank or my eyes on this one.

This petcock is threaded differently than a normal petcock. The nut that threads the petcock onto the tank, is also threaded onto the petcock, with reverse threads. Which means when you install, start with the petcock nut threaded onto the petcock body but only on the first few threads. Install the filter tube onto the petcock and make sure the oring is seated down all the way. then begin threading the petcock onto the tank while holding the petcock valve in a fixed position. this will tighten the threads on both the tank and the petcock body.like stated this was used on a yamaha qt50. stem tube was just the right length, almost as if it was made for it. for the price, would buy again if it fit on all my toys.

Leaks when set to reserve, internal gasket must be torn or kinked. Bib end isn't 7mm per the dimensions... looks to be 4.5mm. Returning for another brand.

Worked for a year. Seals are starting to leak and pour gas so I’m changing it out. I only use non ethanol premium gas so this really shouldn’t be an issue. Not sure id really recommend but hey I bought two of them for an extra for less than an official Honda oem so I’m replacing with the same thing. I think when this next one goes out I’ll go oem in hopes I don’t have to replace yearly.
