Q&A Tips

Q: Why might there be a rattling noise when replacing a cylinder block?

A: The main reason is that it is not installed properly, followed by a certain period of wear and tear of the individual parts. Although the production is standard, the precision is not the same, so it needs to be freely adjusted to wear for a period of time.

Q: How to keep a good cylinder?

A: First of all, after a new kit, avoid overloading, and don't do high speed or long distance in the short term. Secondly, you need to change the oil diligently to reduce wear and debris deposits.

Recieved the parts in great shape. Excellent packaging. Thank you! The parts fit perfectly and function great. Assembled everything with assembly lube. Adjusted valves and carburetor, starts right up every time and runs great! Thank you!

Easy install, good value. Not even close to OEM (probably shouldn't expect that) but it's much louder and sounds "clanky" for lack of a better term. You can hear the piston shooting back and forth against cheap thin metal. Feels cheep but works solid so far. The gearing it comes with the very slow - great for beginners but others will want something faster.

Have a few hours on my rebuild now. Very confident in it now. Some "glitter" will be typical in the oil as the rings seat. I didn't run break oil just stp 10w40. Changed the oil again (buy the 5qt jug) after the first good 30 minutes or so of running the bike very smooth up and down in the low to mid rpm and finally revving it out a little towards the end. Ran it another hour or so. Changed oil again. Ran it a good two hours with friends riding it missing gears as I cringe and again changed and checked/cleaned the oil screen. Again some typical small metal shavings nothing to worry about. Bike is still running great. Rode it another hour or so today after the screen cleaning and fresh oil. Folks can't believe what it cost to rebuild it!Packaged very well in a styrofoam cooler.

Piston rings won’t fit on piston , oil rings are not correct or bottom groove is too small … once the rings are installed on piston , they will not compress into cylinder , no possible way these would ever work , and no designation for top compression ring and second ring … 🤔👎

Would I install this on a race 450? No but on a little bike like this it’s works just fine, dosnt come with exhaust studs only real complaint but it takes 5 min to pull the old ones. Bikes running strong no problems.

Piston and bore seemed ok. Cylinder head is made very poorly and makes a hell of a racket when the bike is running. Not worth the money

Kit worked ok but didn't come with the o-rings that go in-between the gaskets for the oil passage and a the base gasket did not fit great , had to cut some of the gasket to make it fit.

PISTON DOESNT FIT HONDA CT70 1969-1981Anything from 1981 and earlier uses a short rod, with a taller piston.Anything 1982 or newer uses a long rod and short piston. (This kit has the new style piston)In the picture I attached, you can see my old piston is 1/4 inch taller than the new one. If I was to put the new one on my original rod, the piston wouldn’t hit the top of the cylinder. This will cause low compression on the bike.my piston rings were broken when they arrived and you can see the machining quality is a bit of a hack job. Not the nicest unit but will work if you’re in a bind.

I bought this kit to go into a Honda CT70. While the castings look pretty and shiny with gaskets and everything that you'd think you would need to install it and go, the product quality is not even close to original Honda. Parts aren't interchangeable with Honda (different piston dome shape and combustion chamber shape, different camshaft end diameter where cam chain sprocket mounts, different valve keeper design, even the threaded hardware is different). Piston rings allowed significant blowby, so when combined with the shallow domed piston the compression and resultant power was abysmal. After trying four different unsuccessful approaches to try and salvage the kit, I literally tossed it all into the trash can and went back to genuine Honda. The bike had 130 psi compression right away and is running like a top using Honda parts. I bought the kit last year and put it on the shelf until this year, so I couldn't return it for a refund. I wish I could be more positive, but please don't be seduced into buying this kit for the price and how it looks. You will likely find that it'll end up being a huge disappointment for you.
