They work very well as a step for the boat trailer.I mounted them before the trailers fender on each side.They work fine.Easy to attach.Could be a little bigger.

I thought this was a good variation on a folding step. It's a wide foot hold that I know will be useful in a couple spots where I can't see my foothold and the extra size will help my foot find that position. This comes with some hardware: screws. I'll be mounting this with nuts and bolts for my piece of mind and a future of fewer checks of the screws becoming loose or needing replacement as they vibrated out.In the "up/storage" position, this is just less than 5-1/2" from end to end. The thickness in that position is about 1-3/8"The rubber material on the pad seems durable, and it covers the pad on both sides of the foot step. For an interior application, this might reduce some vibration noise in something like a camper or van use. That rubber can hamper the foot pad from going down to a perfect 90 degree angle, but I would expect that the rubber material might just wear in to allow some metal to metal contact over time.Mounting advantages/disadvantages come from this bracket/step being wide. The mounting will be exclusively below the hinge point. Should be no issues in developing three points of contact here with adequate bolts/screws/washers/nuts as necessary.It will be harder to open the step when this is mounted along a flat surface as opposed to being mounted at the top portion of the surface. One might want to space out the step bracket slightly so one can grab the step by hand to open it.Four stars as it is well made large foot step with a different style and hardware, but it does have limitations with a cost that isn't much less expensive than other opportunities.

I really wanted to like these, but they gave me so much trouble during install that I can only give them three stars. The steps are solid enough, but the included screws are junk. This was advertised as boat trailer steps, so I assumed the included hardware was for screwing through metal. I drilled my holes, but the screws stripped out immediately when I tried to tighten them. I ended up enlarging the holes and using bolts with lock nuts.

I returned steps because one of the rivets was never installed, resulting in a partially dangerous product.
