Installed a fuel pressure gauge after it happened, to keep an eye on it. Then drove it for a year keeping it above half tank, but I should've fixed it sooner: for discovered a stack of black remnants in pickup line. When helpers blew supply line pump - back, a nice let-go pffft was audible.I can imagine paying a repair shop, then n proper fashion, a partially clogged line leads to another roadside. It happens.Videos exist on procedure, and note: mine had 7/16in vent hoses, one front, one rear on top I was unaware of, which hung up removal process a tad.Anyway, good part, proper fit etc.

The OEM part was in pieces when we removed the tank to replace the sending unit. So we tried to locate the part locally (Houston, Tx. area), and had no luck. Could not find this part anywhere and like others stated, found it on Amazon.com. This part fits inside the front fuel tank (diesel) of a 1991 F250 and fit perfectly and sits exactly on the bottom of the fuel tank. The truck has two fuel tanks. The part is a little flexible and will compress slightly to fit on the bottom of the fuel tank. I also put a hose clamp on this to keep the fuel from possibly knocking it off when the fuel level is low, but I don't think that will happen because the fit was so good.Price was good. Will order this when the rear tank no longer picks up from the bottom. If your fuel gauge is reading between 1/4 and 1/2 and you run out of fuel, it is not the gauge. The OEM part has broken apart and is only picking up fuel to where this part attaches to.

I still need to drop my tank and see if this will fix my sending unit problem...but it's the part I ordered.

Was pleased to find that I could get the actual Ford part for this. Replaced the one in the rear tank several years ago and it disintegrated because it was aftermarket junk. The OEM will do the same, but will take a LONG time for it to happen. Did both tanks in my 94 so I shouldn't have to worry about it until I'm quite old.

2006 F250 6.0. Tired of running out of fuel when I still had diesel in the tank. OEM part arrived and now working flawlessly. Getting fuel all the way from the bottom of the tank now.

I tried to do it the cheap way by clamping a fish-mouthed hose onto the stock line. It didn't work. I'm not sure if I had a kink in it (doubt it), or was sucking up something (the tank looked spotless inside and free of debris - maybe a dead bug?), but my fuel pressure gauge was not happy. Without the fuel pressure gauge I would have had no idea I had a problem, the engine never skipped a beat (12 valve Cummins installed in my 97 Ford).Rather than re-invent something that worked, I just spent the money on this. Installed it, no hose clamp needed as the bottom of the tank prevents it from falling off. Now I'm back to a perfect 30+ psi from idle to wide open.
