seems sturdy and has uiaa markings. using as quick-connect for a flip-line. can't complain yet about this one...a bit cheaper than some of the other brands, but acceptable for amateur tree work. gate opens easily enough when needed, and stays closed otherwise.

I use this snap hook on a custom made bridle for my boat anchor. The bridle holds the boat into the wind. Our boat doesn’t have a cleat at the bow, so attaching to one of the side cleats, lets the boat wander in huge arcs, where attaching to both front cleats as shown in the photo keeps the boat steady. The snap hook is plenty strong enough and is one hand operation, to easily snap onto a loop tied in the boat anchor line. The hook does not have any sharp edges like most snap hooks so the rope doesn’t chafe! In a word, it’s “perfect”!

Well engineered. Most of the clips I see are much stronger than my body would ever want to know, but I still stop to think about the trustworthyness of the equipment I am using. The 40 kN rating for a clip of such light weight. Pausing, I noticed I had focused on what I was doing, not on the clip. This thing fit my hand and movements so well it seems to have been intuitive. Multi-action release designs often feel like fumble to me, never quite merging with the flow. This is a two action, but, in my use, was as easy as a one. Just a squeeze puts it on and takes it off. Very nice.

Just last week I was in a tree. I use a landyard with these carabiner. I moved around in a way that I saw my eye2eye prusik get into this carabiner. It was the eye that got in there and made me hung. I never placed it in there intentionally. The safety gate got squeezed together and opened and the eye of the prusik forced it way in. These gates are easily opened with less then 10lbs of force. This concerns me on my safety. I should say you feel the same. I watch 2 weeks ago, on YouTube, someone had a close call on a similar STYLE, not BRAND, carabiner staying open with his landyard while climbing. I think I am going to replace these two carabiner I think I am going back to triple action gate instead of the triple action outer squeeze locks from my own safety. Theses are faster to connect are disconnect but I dont even remotely think it safer.
