Was worried about this item after reading other reviews, but it works great. The arm moves freely. I was concerned that the battery compartment meant it needed a battery to be charged by the solar panel to run, but this isn't the case (the battery is just backup for low-light conditions). With no battery inserted I shone a flashlight into the solar panel and was pleased to see the arm start to move.Exactly what I wanted. Yeah, it's cheap tacky plastic but that's what I was looking for.

I don't know if every bar needs one but it has been a more than welcome addition to ours. It's running on battery power because there is no light where he sits.

My son loves it as a toy but it has to be constantly in sun light for it to work it would be nice if it held a charge but I don’t use it so it doesn’t bother me
