In still photography and video, a matte box is a device used on the end of a lens to block the sun or other light source in order to prevent glare and lens flare. It performs essentially the same function as a lens hood and also mounts in front of the lens, but usually includes adjustable fins called French flags. Today, matte boxes are made for DV cameras and HD cameras for the same reasons as for film cameras.
This Fotga DP3000 M1 matte box is specially designed for most of the dv cameras with wide angle lenses.
It also works with standard 15mm rails, center-to-center rails distance 60mm.

Excellent matte box. I think the people complaining about this matte box being too short or too tall for their lens to line up with must not know how to adjust their rig. When using a matte box of any kind, you need to have a height-adjustable base plate that you need to adjust in tandem with the matte box's height adjustment.

Not bad. Metal flags. Built well. Not packed very well and mine arrived slightly damaged but was easily corrected. Fragile flag finish. Overall very satisfied.

the purpose of a mattebox is so you can put filters in front of your lens to stop some light from coming in, so you can open your iris and create a nice picture. Since this has no facility to install filters, it's nothing more than a lamp shade. Having said that, there are other models from FOTGA with the filter tray that cost more money but THIS is NOT one of them.

Die Mattebox bringt alles mit, was sie soll. Die Verarbeitung ist top, soweit ich das sehen und fühlen kann und die Donut-Ringe liegen in vier Größen für verschiedene Objektivdurchmesser bei. Einziges Manko: Die Höhenverstellung hätte etwas großzügiger ausfallen dürfen.

no lleva porta filtros y hay que quitarlo cada vez que cambiamos la lente pero su modelo superior cuesta casi 40€ más..este modelo tiene las llaves que apretan de plástico azul no de aluminio son de peor calidad y estética profesional todo depende de las prisas.. es robusto

Ottima fattura, con la brugola si riesce anche regolare la morbidezza di apertura delle bandiere.Note negative: le due viti che vanno nelle guide che sono di plastica (e che la fotga vende quelle metalliche a parte!) sono cose che non capisco, mettimelo 10 euro in più, la regolazione in altezza che serve per centrare il buco del paraluce con l'ottica non va bene con le reflex quali Nikon D5100 o Panasonic GH4 (e loro rispettive ottiche), gli anelli di gomma forniti sono esagerati, fatti per le ottiche da teleobiettivo!, è necessario creare un anello con un buco al centro decentrato che raccorda il buco del paraluce e l'obiettivo, mica tutti hanno una red e ottiche Zeiss serie PL!.

Für den Preis als Mattebox für mein 165er DSLR Filter-System perfekt. Für die ND Filter konnte ich es um 90° drehen und so ist es soweit bei diesem Formt möglich recht kompakt. Qualitativ gut, schnell zerlegt und montiert.
