Four Seasons 84540 Tee Heater Fitting

Great fit on 5/8 heater hose. I used it with a 25 dollar Bosch temp gauge, and it worked out perfectly. The temp sensor extends down into the flow path of the tee so it is not in a "dead spot". My heater still blows hot air and you can actually see on the gauge when the thermostat opens and closes. Simple, well made, well designed little piece.

Bought it to install an aftermarket coolant gauge and it is good. Nice welds and it doesn't leak.

As the title says, item is almost perfect, however if you are installing a sending unit of some sort you will likely need a ground wire from the metal portion to the body. I had to invent a way using some creative metalwork. I would give it 5 stars if it had a way to add a ground wire.

This is perfect for an LS swap, installed just outside of the water pump along the 5/8" coolant hose. The alternative is to use an extension 3" long off the head which can easily break. This can easily be adapted for smaller threads, there are adapters to go from 3/8 NPT to 1/4 as well as 3/8 NPT to 1/8, and 3/8 NPT to some common metric sizes.

I needed to install a second temperature gauge on my 1958 Ford daily driver to determine whether it really was running warm, or whether I was just getting faulty readings from the original dashboard gauge. This adapter allowed an easy install for the second gauge's sending unit by splicing it into a heater hose. Nice, solid construction, worked like a charm. Oh, and yes, the dash gauge was the culprit.

All my access points in manifold and heads are full of sensors and such, so this was the easiest way to add temp sensing. Tip: spray with satin clear engine paint before use. Will not corrode and look new for a long time.

Leaked immediately, had to JBweld it to close the gap where someone forgot to weld it.
