Your cart is empty.The Fowler 52-174-212-0 is a twin-beam dial height gage with dual resettable up/down counters, hand-operated feed wheel, a carbide-tipped scriber, a rust-resistant satin chrome finish, a measurement range of 0 to 12", and is precise to 0.0015". The dial gage has distinct, easily readable figures for accurate measurement. Two separate digit counters register upward and downward travel with zero setting capability, which resets to zero at any point without particular calculations. The gage is lowered and raised smoothly and evenly on the dual beams by a hand-operated feed wheel with coarse and fine adjustment. It also features a carriage lock lever to hold the measuring head in place while scribing. Fowler, an American company, manufactures premium inspection and measurement instruments like electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and micrometers. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Canton, MA.

Not a bad gauge overall for the $. It’s possible I’ve missed something in the description, but the one I’ve received reads in inches/English on the dial and metric on the readout/counter. Was not expecting that.. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, yet.

Nice gage but lock screw broke in 1st week of use . Not happy in trying to locate Fowler support to get replacement parts!Keep getting page with Warnings?

If your perusing ebay or the likes, gawking at clapped out brand name height gauges, convincing yourself that the exorbitant prices asked for them are ok. STOP. This gauge arrived and surpassed all my OCD expectations. This must be the newest version because the lock and the crank on the back wheel are indeed metal. The large wheel is a high quality almost bakelite feeling plastic and the grind job on the whole assembly is fantastic. It looks and feels like a high quality piece, and I dont know how they pull it off at this price.

Super pleased with this, no problems getting it certified and it’s smooth. I did replace the plastic lock and hand wheel with stainless ones I machined but I don’t feel it’s really necessary as both were okay but I felt the lock handle could have been a little better quality plastic

Needed a digital height gauge. This one was a dial version .... returned it and re-ordered ...
