The carbide tipped contact point provides extra durability. Features a 3/8" mounting stem and is suplied with a center lug back which can be rotated every 90 degrees for mouniting to various stands and fixtrues. Fowler, an American company, manufactures premium inspection and measuring instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and micrometers. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Canton, MA.

Fowler has a great history in precision measurement. But this tool is a step above the rest for one cool feature: it can measure fractional inches, I have yet to see a competitor do that. My only wants would be another decimal of precision and a ruby tip and/or carbide tip included but I still love it.

The indicator broke within 6 months of use. The glass reference slide inside broke off and rendered the product useless.
