About this item

  • [4K HD Lens Plus Phoenix 2 Analog Sensor Lens ]: Runcam Hybrid 2 is an upgraded version of the Hybrid with Phoenix 2 Analog output, which can offer up to 4K HD recording and better FPV image feed.
  • [Single Board Design]: More compact than the two board as RunCam managed to do it with just a single PCB board. The two lenses are very close so what you see in FPV is what you are filming.
  • [Easy to Install]: The camera module is 19mm wide, which is equivalent to a micro FPV camera. That means you can mount the RunCam Hybrid 2 in any frame designed for micro cameras without an adapter.
  • [QR Code Parameter Settings]: It’s the same technology used in the Runcam 5, Just need to download Runcam’s App on your smartphone, change the settings you want, generate the QR code, and scan it with the camera. It gets easier the more you do it
  • [UART Control]: You can connect the camera to a UART on your flight controller, set it up in Betaflight and you can start and stop recording with a switch on your radio.

True 145° Wide Angle 4K HD & FPV Camera

Hybrid 2 is an upgraded version of the Hybrid, which features a dedicated lens for 4K HD recording and a Phoenix 2 nano lens for FPV which results in a higher quality of the analog footage and lower latency in comparison to a split style HD camera which using a single lens.

Now more and more FPV players prefer to install a lighter 4K HD camera on their drone, such as Insta*** go, naked GoPr*. But Hybrid 2 is still the lightest among them, and also come with a better analog FPV feed.

  • HD FOV 145°

Low Latency Better for Freestyle Flying

Unlike the previous version with a racing level FPV camera, Hybrid 2 features a Phoenix 2 nano camera sensor, which has 20MS latency. It's better for freestyle flying.

the analog image is as good as I've seen but the digital image is amazing. It may look better than a go pro.It took a very hard crash and is still working for me. I'll repost if and when it dies. main thing is I love not using a big camera on top to get good footage.

I like this camera a lot, it was a no brained when I was searching for a drone cam. But after flying with it for about two weeks, I find it to be very frustrating. They specify in the docs to make sure to format the SD card to FAT (which I’ve done) otherwise the recording will be unstable. Well it’s still unstable and I’m never sure if it’s going to produce a non-corrupt video. I’d say at this point, about 2/3 of my videos are unusable/corrupt. The video quality is great and I am not complaining about that. But if you are interested in this camera for its recording capabilities, I suggest you look elsewhere. It is extremely unreliable. My other complaint is the cable between the camera and board. I don’t understand why they had to make it so short. If you plan on mounting this thing at the back of your frame, think again. All in all, I had very high hopes for this camera and i am very let down.Update: After I got tired of not capturing any video, I contacted support and they acknowledged that there can be a problem with the SD card slots. They offered to send me a replacement for $25 plus shipping (usually it costs $50 for a replacement board). The replacement works much better, but I did not change my rating. They know they cut corners on the boards and they chose to continue selling faulty products. They also charged me even more money to fix a product that should have worked from the start. Even if they have good products, I suggest you think about whether you want to support a company like Runcam. Drones are facing so many hurdles to be accepted by society. Think about the potential consequences when a drone has faulty components. I am hopeful that Runcam will see this review and focus on quality control instead margins.

Love this camera! I quit using a GoPro on my drone thanks to this camera. The main drawback on this is the audio quality. It needs good audio filtering more like the GoPro. They could probably fix some of this with a firmware update but it really needs a better mic. Covering the mic with a little shoe goo helps considerably but it's still not that great.

Best camera out there if your looking to avoid buying a 800.00 GoPro. Definitely a huge upgrade to the RunCam split when it comes to detail.

I haven’t yet been able to fly with this Hybrid2 yet because it doesn’t come with a mounting bracket or an OSD joystick pad to set up parts of the FPV display , and finally I understand now that it will not provide a Lipo Vbat voltage on the Goggles FOV display. Aside from these limitations I’m confident this will be a great way to get quality footage while flying FPV. The Runcam tech support via email has been superb and very reponsive too.

The best option for small analogue FPV wings. Camera pre-dates gyroflow so you will need rely on the FC for that.

Works as it says it should. Great latency free FPV and great recorded video. Haven't used much yet, but seems very good
