I've used this off and on for cutting up garlic. Many recipes call for minced garlic and this works well but on some garlic it crushes it more than minces. Still the garlic is usable albeit depending upon your recipe. Its better on smaller cloves than larger ones, some really large ones just won't work, or at least I couldn't get them through the holes. Somewhat easy to clean, just rinse under water, sometimes the small pieces get caught and you have to use your finger to get them to drop out, same for getting all the garlic into your recipe, sometimes small pieces get stuck. All in all a good kitchen tool, I would buy it again.

This rocker mincer is very easy to use. It minces the garlic nicely and it is easy to remove the minced garlic for use. Unlike the squeeze type garlic presses this rocker mincer is easier to clean. The garlic peeler is a nice bonus. I have used those type of peelers before and find them quite convenient.

I try to avoid writing reviews, but this 'tool' is intriguing enough that I felt compelled to. First - it works, doing what it says that it will do. It doesn't 'cut' the garlic (or anything else that you might like to pulverize). It mashes it, allowing larger pieces to come up through the holes. If you keep shifting the tool around you mash all your garlic. Usually I do this with the back of a good sturdy knife. So. If you're looking for anything other than mashed garlic use your knife, but for mashed garlic, which is quite useful, this is quick. It's sturdy as hell (you could pry a tire from the rim with it) and it's kind of comfortable/not quite comfortable yet/but I expect with more use it will be - did you understand that? Cleans up perfectly in the dishwasher. I don't usually buy 'kitchen gadgets'. Use your knife. But, this mashes garlic (or probably many other things) quickly, well and cleans up nice. And it's a good value.

After YEARS of peeling garlic myself I find the easiest most efficient method by rolling the garlic in the rubber cylinder. The press works great. Would recommend to anyone who cooks with garlic.

One of the most tedious tasks I do not look forward to in the kitchen is mincing and chopping garlic. It almost always results in a smelly, super sticky mess. Unfortunately, this product is no different.I really love the idea of this product, and it is VERY well made. The silicone sleeve works perfectly to remove the papery skin on garlic, but really that's the only purpose it serves. It doesn't take up much drawer space, so it stays. The garlic press itself is very heavy duty. However, I'm not sure it would stand up to the task of mincing anything else like ginger or turmeric. Not that the product would bend easily, I just don't think it's large enough to handle the job and would probably hurt your hands before you could get enough for your recipe. As far as garlic goes, it minces and smashes garlic at the same time. I find I usually have to use the garlic press twice to get the size I want and get all the pieces minced, but by that point your hands are sticky, the gadget is sticky, the cutting board... well, you get the idea if you use garlic like I do. It makes a large mess. I still find myself using the back of a knife or spoon to scrape all the garlic off and into whatever I'm cooking. I've used it many times, and I always run into the same issues. I feel like there's better products out there to do this job which also handle other root herbs well.In the end, I suggest either a ceramic ginger grater or one of those little contraptions with the wheels on the bottom and ultra sharp blades that will chop small amounts of whatever root herb you throw into it.This thing will probably leave you frustrated.

I stopped using my traditional garlic press because it was a pain to use and clean. Now I mince garlic multiple times a week with this tool and it is a joy to use.It seemed big when I first pulled it out of the box, but it is the perfect size and shape to keep your hands steady while pressing down on garlic cloves. The stainless steel is dishwasher safe and doesn’t flex while using. But the best part is that the “cutting†side doesn’t have sharp edges, so you won’t have to worry about cutting your hands while digging around for this tool in a drawer.

I love garlic but am too lazy to use fresh, except for special occasions.I had a small collection of useless garlic presses.I used garlic powder - preferring it to tasteless bottled minced garlic. No more, now preparing fresh garlic is little more work than opening the bottle of garlic powder.Peeling, mincing, and cleanup is a easy.To my amazement, the peeling tube actually works. Yes it takes repeated bouts of rolling - especially for the older, more dried out cloves. It might not save much time but is a lot less fiddly than other methods. The garlic rocker mincer is effective. It makes larger pieces than do garlic presses. It does not require upper body strength. The garlic rocker cleans up easily and hasn't rusted.I read the reviews (with photos) of people who say these doesn't work. It looks to me that they didn't rock the device until all the garlic was minced. Note that this rocker, as the original Joseph rocker, has fine edges on cutting side of the hexagonal hole - other brands just have uniform holes and don't cut. These other brands smush the garlic and require great force to push any of the garlic through the holes. Avoid these.I am very glad I bought this rocker and peeler set.

After years of frustrating cleaning of a press, this has been a revelation. Really quick, very effective and so easy to clean

I have had one for years and would not be without it. Bought this garlic mincer for my daughter as she tried it and loved it. Does the job easily and cleans up perfectly in the dishwasher. Great item that lasts.

Bought this because sometimes squeezing the hand-held version garlic crusher is too hard on my damn arthritis. Instead, you crush it on the cutting board with both hands on each side. Works great, cleans easy with a quick scrub brush, and is stainless steel, something I cannot seem to find on the hand holds, they're either aluminum which discolors in the dishwasher or plastic which breaks, and there is always chunks you can't seem to clean out. This is simple and easy, and I'm annoyed I never saw it years ago.

Excellent for crushing multiple garlic cloves. I always break the hinged sort and find them fiddly to clean. This is sturdy and very easy to clean - scrape with a knife, quick rinse and put in the dishwasher. Removed one star because if the handles were slightly longer they wouldn’t dig into my palms and the design would be perfect.

I would purchase both again. I had higher expectations for the rolling thing for peeling garlic. It takes a little effort for the peel to actually come off. Cutting a titch off the ends of the garlic clove speeds the process. Unfortunately it's a one clove at a time deal. It didn't really help speed up the process of getting a ton of garlic ready for salsa and sauce making. But yes I would purchase it again because why not.The steel garlic press thingy is wonderful. It does exactly what is expected and I love it! I now always want one in my kitchen.
