I've never owned a mandoline before and wasn't sure how often I'd use it so I bought this one based on the price. So far I've used it to make kimchi, gyoza, vegetable tian, mac and cheese, and waffle fries. I really love it. The silicone mat that it comes with does a great job of holding the mandoline in place. I also love the protective glove, though I'm not sure how to wash it? (I've been putting it in the dishwasher with all the other parts and that seems to do the trick.) The glass container feels heavy duty and high quality, on par with pyrex. Blades are sharp. Easy to clean. It's all very good so far!The only cons are that it can get a little messy if you are aggressively slicing. I sometimes shoot bits of veg across my kitchen, but the time it takes to slice is drastically reduced, so picking up a few veg bits off the floor is worth it! Also the plastic piece that holds the blade does not "snap" on to the glass. It can slip or wobble if you're aggressive. My solution to this is to hold the "handle" bit with my non-slicing hand. Problem solved!I'd recommend this as a great starter mandoline for home cooking! I think this is my favorite quarantine purchase.

Mandolin is great. Very sharp, easy to use. I had no problem with apples or peeled fruit. Slicing lemons was more challenging. The peel would cut smoothly on one side, but stick on the other. The cut proof glove was a reason I chose this product. I am on blood thinners and working with sharp knives is discouraged. The glove works as long as it's not used directly. Pushing the fruit through to get a clean slice did put holes in the fingers (2nd use). That was disappointing.

There's not much to say about this product except ,Wow! I had ten pounds of potatoes to slice andi was done and had them in the dehydrator in less than half the time.Easy to use, assemble, and clean. Great, Great Product

First of all, I haven't had this mandoline for very long so I can't rate its durability.The good:The glass base/receptacle is a great feature. Plastic gets stains, scratches & cracks reducing the usability & service life of the whole item. The glass base is roughly the size of a rather small to medium loaf pan. Since the manufacturer states that it is oven safe, I assume that it's tempered glass like Pyrex. Time will tell.The silicone mat for the base is another great feature. It keeps the mandoline from sliding around on your work surface while you are cutting your fruits & veggies.The selection of blades is nice. You receive 6 slicing & grating blades. The blades are razor sharp. Only time will tell if they will retain the sharp cutting edge. There isn't any way the blades can be resharpened if they get dull.The glove... I don't see how a soft woven fabric glove can protect you from sharp blades... Maybe because the blades are permanently affixed to the plastic insert? I certainly wouldn't trust it if I were chopping something with a chef's knife.The Bad (or not so good):The lid for the glass base does NOT FIT. It is long enough but not wide enough to securely close the container. I can't see how the manufacturer could possibly think they could let this slide. It would have been better to not include a lid at all rather than one that will not do the job it was designed to do. What a waste.The "cassette" to hold the cutting blades only holds 5 of the 6 blades... Why? When storing it away, I won't leave a cutting blade in place on the mandoline itself because it would be too easy to cut yourself while handling it. I guess I'll have to toss the 6th blade into the glass base when I store it.Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase. (My expectations were fairly low.)

The cucumber deli videos made me buy this. I was petrified at first, but it comes with a safety glove so you don't lose a finger. 😂. I have honestly used it daily. Game changer!

This really is a good functioning man to win but for me it's not cuz I don't listen to instructions listen to what it says when it says to use the little guard while you're cutting your vegetables I did not and chop my finger off a couple times which was not good no no fault of the mandolin just fall to my own but it cuts smoothly I mean I've used it for months now

Estaba entre una manual y una eléctrica. Me animé por ésta porque el recipiente era de vidrio, tiene su base para que no se resbale y un guante de seguridad. IncreÃble. Hice tinga de zanahoria y muy fácil rallé 15. También he usado lo he usado como toper, lÃquidos podrÃan derramarse, pero con verduras funciona perfecto. Una cosa: sà se mancha el plástico, pero con un poco de vinagre al terminar se quita súper fácil.

I bought this to slice onions, cabbage, tomatoes etc thinly and it works a treat I have only used the 2mm knife but it is fantastic and does exactly as expected. The whole unit is quite big but works well and is sturdy when using. I have been keeping mine in the packaging as the knives are so sharp I don’t want anyone to accidentally hurt themselves. I would definitely recommend this item.
