Used the strap on a 3,500 pound rated winch, which is pulling a 12,000 pound boat onto a trailer. I was definitely leery of its abilities, and made sure to use a safety chain for transport, but this strap did the job. The hook was bigger than my previous strap, but it did not pose a problem.

This is a good quality, heavy duty strap to replace the flimsy thin one you have now that breaks. The only problem with this is that if it were two feet shorter, it would be perfect. The strap is thick enough that it fills your reel on your winch too much. Even after hooking it up and winding it down tight it is still full. The problem I had with that is that the strap then was catching on the bolt heads that hold the winch to the trailer and therefore tearing the new strap. If you can replace the bolts that hold your winch on the trailer with a carriage type bolt head so it doesn't catch the strap, this would be the perfect replacement strap you can get! Mine are welded studs to the trailer making replacing the bolts a little tricky. Cutting them off and re-drill the bolt holes is what I'm going to have to do to keep this strap. Black in color would have been nice but to get one this heavy that won't break makes it worth it! Had too many of these break while pulling on a boat or towing the boat trailer down the road. It does have the heavy hook for the bow eye on one end and a sewn loop on the other for the bolt in the winch. Suggest that you have someone keep the strap tight while another winches it up on the reel while installing it.

Good strap - the tag clearly states 4000lb working load with a 10,000lb break strength. I bought this to switch my winch cable to a strap. The newer Fulton T2625 winch comes with the option to attach cable or a strap. However, the older model that I had didn’t have a way to attach the strap. The simple fix is to drill two 3/8†holes out on your winch 1/8†away from the center shaft. Install a stainless bolt through the first hole, put the loop end of your strap around the bolt, and then put the bolt out the second hole. Tighten with a lock nut on the other side. The strap does not overfill the winch, there was room to spare.

This strap fit perfectly on the Fulton F2 2000lb winch. Hook and clasp are heavy duty, strap should outlast the boat lol. 4000lb max working load is more than enough. The break strength of this strap likely exceeds the cranking power of 99% of the winches its attached to. If you use this strap as intended with a 1500 to 3500 lb winch with a large enough drum, this strap wont give you any problems. Would highly recommend it.
